I don't think she'll be allowed to start in the heats if she has any symptoms. And still it's short track, and it's even 500m short track, so it's not easy to say she gets through the heats even if she's healthy... you know, ice is slippery, the elbows are moving, nothing is certain...

It's very understandable why you don't follow figure skating... I may have even guessed why. ;-))) But for me - well, I have a kind of sympathy for this sport. Back in the late 80s there wasn't much winter sports on Polish TV, but they have always showed European and World Championships in figure skating, so if I wanted to watch some sport and I couldn't choose what I really wanted, I had to be happy with what was available. That's where this sympathy comes from, I guess. Now I don't watch figure skating almost at all, but in the olympics I will try not to miss the highlights at least... And there were some really great figure skating olympics moments in the past - vide Yulia Lipnitskaya free program in team event in Sochi or Savchenko/Massot performance in pair skating final in PyeongChang... Those were Masterpieces, I think.

Maybe you are right. But honestly - who cares whether the presidents of certain countries will attend the opening ceremony or not? But NHL players not coming to the games on the planes from USA and Canada - well, that's a huge blow to the games and a big regret.

Well, I'm not that much into ice hockey actually, I mean I like it, but I prefer a few other winter sports.... But when I see how many of you are so interested in it, I can only say once again how much I'm angry that NHL players will not come this time... Ehhh... This is the worst thing that happened to the 2022 olympics so far and I think it's 75% political and only 25% business decision...

I know that when we choose between last 8 only, we miss the great champions like Pirmin Zurbriggen, Franz Klammer, Bernhard Russi, Jean-Claude Killy and others, but I think 8 is good number, in almost all of the post-olympics books I have there are top8 performances listed, and the same with David Wallechinsky books...

This poll #25 may be found stupid or crazy or too complicated, I know. But let's try it, let's do some kind of "imaginary olympics". These are 8 last olympic champions in men's downhill. Imagine that all 8 of them are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time. Who would have won gold, silver and bronze then?

Thanks for your nice words. I hope that she'll be able to start as well. She is one of our only few chances for a good result in Beijing, so that would be a shame if she couldn't start on Saturday in the heats.

Yes, we know. This is very bad situation. And a lot of practice on ice cancelled for her.

Natalia Maliszewska is covid - positive. She is already in Beijing. Hopefully she will be able to start next week. Ehh...

Well, I start my vacation from thursday Feb 3th, all until sunday Feb 20th. Can't wait, we had awfully lot of work lately and there is even more to come in the next months. So it's well-deserved time for two weeks off.
