  1. Finn Sonnekalb just obliterated Jordan Stolz' junior WR. With his current level, Sonnekalb has absolutely thrown himself in with the very best in the world.
  2. 1500m, let's see if anyone can in any way close in on Cindy Klassen in the all-time ranking. Not likely at all, most likely she'll stay on top for several more years and it's already been over two decades
  3. Very mediocre results for De Boo (especially) and Diniz. The breaks didn't help neither.
  4. For European viewers: Zach Stoppelmoor makes me want to have Eurosport's 'Watts' program back.
  5. Former Dutch skater Erben Wennemars (Joep's father) has for years already been working for Dutch broadcaster NOS, analyzing the races and such. His advice for Femke Kok to break the WR tomorrow: "Just go faster"
  6. Kok only 0,12s slower than the WR World's fastest 500m since March 2019.
  7. Beatrice Lamarche with a 37.30, could we finally actually see someone taking down that 37.22 record after almost 25 years?
  8. So all politicians, you mean then? Considering you're surely not saying rightists don't align themselves with criminal behavior.
  9. Meanwhile, our Totallympian races again tomorrow morning, 09.22 CET, 10k freestyle in Muonio. Main rival (and, again, former MTB coach, which is why fighting her now is such a sour thing) Jaque starts one and a half minute later, with two Lithuanians in between them. Two important things from Bruna's/my/our point of view: of course beating Jaque, but at least equally as important hoping that Jaque scores, let's say, at least around 180 points, preferrably higher (the A criteria thing).
  10. That should at least be a first step for her towards qualifying. More importantly I think it shows her shape is good enough to score the required FIS points in distance races (where lower points are easier than in sprints). Still a bit to go, but I think she has a very good chance to make it and the only reason she didn't already is because she didn't compete much in the past years.
  11. All women from non-qualified countries who currently have under 400 distance FIS points: I assume Iceland for example won't be able to get a quota through World Cups: they have one, they just don't have an eligible athlete (yet). So , , , might have a chance of getting a women's quota in the World Cup route, it seems - Thailand will probably need Karen Chanloung to do something.
  12. Thanks! By the looks of it, this isn't really something worth keeping an eye on from a Brazilian women's perspective, unlike four years ago (when they missed out on an extra spot by I believe 1 position) it doesn't look at all realistic for them to get a third spot.
  13. Is there a list of which countries those 10 quotas would go to if things ended now?
  14. In the women's side they're not even trying, the main Dutch team only just arrived in Salt Lake (and at first didn't even want to go at all) and massively underperformed yesterday in the 3k Halfway through November and we've already had our first mess of the season.
  15. Zurek with the 4th fastest time ever.
  16. I'm impressed, new policeman Loubineaud speaks excellent English
  17. God I still remember that. Was watching it with a live betting site open on my laptop. Commentator started talking about that he thought Kramer made a mistake, but it wasn't clear, meanwhile the odds for Kramer to win gold were going from 1.01 or so to 100+ and well fuck.
  18. Goes to show, it's just ridiculous to say this or that athlete is basically sure to win a medal/gold when the season barely even started yet I remember someone saying last season there was basically no way Ghiotto would NOT win the 10k in the Olympics. I mean. Come on.
  19. Yeah, this is all nothing. World record stands and historic win for TimmyTempo
  20. Marcel Bosker stirring up trouble in the usual mission for to get the maximum quota for the Olympics.
  21. Wow, really needed to Google that name to see what was up there I had no idea.
  22. Right, season has now started for real: Dutch commentator mentioned Eitrem watching video tapes of old competitions, as he mentions every single time. Just waiting for him to complete it: "Eitrem is a big fan of allround skating and spends 10+ hour flights watching old allround championships."
  23. That's a smaller PB than Jilek's, btw
  24. I can not get over those 27's, oh my, what a beauty of a race
  25. First French world record ever This is insane! Nearly broke the unbreakable 6-minute barrier!
