Main rival (and, again, former MTB coach, which is why fighting her now is such a sour thing) Jaque starts one and a half minute later, with two Lithuanians in between them. Two important things from Bruna's/my/our point of view: of course beating Jaque, but at least equally as important hoping that Jaque scores, let's say, at least around 180 points, preferrably higher (the A criteria thing).

That should at least be a first step for her towards qualifying. More importantly I think it shows her shape is good enough to score the required FIS points in distance races (where lower points are easier than in sprints). Still a bit to go, but I think she has a very good chance to make it and the only reason she didn't already is because she didn't compete much in the past years.

All women from non-qualified countries who currently have under 400 distance FIS points: I assume Iceland for example won't be able to get a quota through World Cups: they have one, they just don't have an eligible athlete (yet). So , , , might have a chance of getting a women's quota in the World Cup route, it seems - Thailand will probably need Karen Chanloung to do something.

Thanks! By the looks of it, this isn't really something worth keeping an eye on from a Brazilian women's perspective, unlike four years ago (when they missed out on an extra spot by I believe 1 position) it doesn't look at all realistic for them to get a third spot.
