  1. of course they are...YOG are about cadets class... p.s. are you still wasting your time with that troll? by the way, we just had a few very, very good and exciting matches in the first couple of days of this event... especially the men's -73kg final was really entertaining, with Ciloglu who was capable of tying the bout with 7/8 seconds to go with the most improbable of tomoe nage and then he repeated himself in the golden score, leaving the Japanese guy stunned (and shocked to have been thrown twice in a minute or so with the same move)... after watching the Turlish guy carefully, I have to make amend and give my excuses to Fabio Basile...I basically called him "done and gone" after losing twice against this guy earlier this year, but man, Ciloglu is for real...he's tough and very strong (and he also has a couple of very good "closing" techniques)...
  2. official start is tomorrow...but the team pursuit qualification has already been completed earlier today... among the girls, NZL were the fastest, less than a second better than ITA, with AUS a fraction behind in 3rd. GER edged out GBR for the 4th place. FRA, RUS and CHN are the other qualified teams. in the men's event, it was DEN to prevail over NZL and GBR, all of them at 3.55. The usual suspect GER were 4th also here, this time just ahead of ITA (both at 3.56, with ITA heavily penalized by a very slow start -7th fastest after 2kms). The 3 remaining spots for the second round went to a British private team, FRA and RUS.
  3. not gonna happen...this new bid is damn serious and has a lot of chances to end up in a beautiful edition of the Olympic Games... it would have been really different if we had to count on Turin and the National Government , made only of a bunch of idiots that can't even get back home by themselves -and I'm not talking of the "bad boy" Salvini and his (only apparently) racist party, but of course I'm referring to those cheaters named "5 Stelle" (5 Stars)... without them, all things are not that tragic as they could seem from outside the Country (at least for what concerns this Olympic question...everyday life is just another issue, unfortunately)...
  4. never thought you're biased... but as far as I know, AIBA's English members are among those who are trying to destroy the Kazakh/Italian attempt to remove Rakhimov... they are part of the plot against Franco Falcinelli organized by the Welsh boss, so I don't know how much their rivalry has been influencing their "bigger view" inside AIBA (I have no doubts about their home fights, but internationally they are not so enemies)... p.s. I was really surprised when I discovered that KAZ was plotting with Falcinelli against Rakhimov, considered all the medals they're robbing under his tenure (official or not official) in the last 8/9 years...
  5. yeah, but it was more a typo...I know she wasn't that old...
  6. I do really think you have a lot of troubles in rewading and understanding... in that source there's not written anything you're saying... they only post-poned the judgment to Nov, 6th and it's not that obvious that he's going to be declared guilty of anything... and by the way, the only judgment that really matters, the trial court one, already stated that Magnini is absolutely innocent and didn't do anything... this is just a sport politics farce, which could cost those "judges" only a lot of troubles (they could be charged with a lot of accusations and exposed to pay a lot of money to the people they're defaming...and I really hope that sooner or later someone is going to ruin them...they really deserve it*)... *remember, those people are the same who disqualified a 75-year old bridge player because once she forgot to write that she was taking pills to take care of her high blood pressure (and she was well known for taking those pills for years)...
  7. well, it's not that different apart for Anterselva/Antholz (which is too isolated from the other venues and it would increase costs and travels for athletes and media...not that good for the Agenda 2020 rules) and the shameful management of the Valtellina events (frankly, CC in Santa Caterina would be a safe flop...and having the men's downhill on the Stelvio track would be something amazing)...
  8. but now, since the Welsh president is the mastermind behind Rakhimov's moves, they are the second choice behind the untouchable Russians for the judges... however, there's a slight difference between world events run directly by AIBA and European events run by EUBC, in this last case Ireland has a lot more political power than on the world scene... the "ranking of shame" at the moment is RUS, KAZ, GBR, Host Country, IND & THA... the ranking of the Countries to be punished is currently led with margin by UKR, followed by CUB and ITA (and also GER have not much fans in the AIBA tech commission)...
  9. by the way, if I were the organizers, I'd have the following venues: -Sliding Sports in Cortina (full rebuilding of the existing track) -women's Alpine Skiing in Cortina -Curling in Cortina -Freestyle Big Air, Moguls and Aerials in Cortina (on the climb of the old and dismissed ski jumping hill originally built the for the 1956 Games, which is still there) -men's Alpine Skiing in Bormio -Cross-Country Skiing, Biathlon and Freestyle/Snowboard HP and Slopestyle in Livigno -Snowboard Alpine disciplines and Snowboardcross/Skicross in Santa Caterina -Skating (all disciplines) in Milan (speedskating in a permanent 365 days/year open to the public Oval to be built -beside the existing Forum Milanofiori would be perfect, Artistic Skating and Short Track at the Forum Milanofiori -existing and perfectly working already, Hockey in a new arena to be built -it will be built in any case, even if we won't host the Games and at the Agorà -already existing as the only real ice hockey stadium in the city, but of course for the Games it should be deeply renewed if not rebuilt completely) -Ceremonies in Milan (San Siro stadium...no need to write anything else about it) the only doubt remains between Predazzo and St.Moritz for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined (as I wrote before, funding for the Cortina track are decisive for this choice)... that's it...these would be "my" Games...
  10. naaa, for the Games, they would mount temporary stands around the stadium which should prevent that (at least partially)...
  11. actually, according to the previous design (the 3-headed monster), the biathlon venue is going to be Livigno...and I don't think that's going to change... moreover, I think Livigno is also going to host Cross-Country Skiing now, while Predazzo would host Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined (always if the St.Moritz idea is going to be dropped, which is not sure at all at the moment...it all depends on the funding for the Cortina track...if they re-build that, then the Swiss trip won't happen, but if they can't find all the money needed for the Cortina track -the most expensive sport structure of all Games- then there's no 3rd option, they have to keep St.Moritz involved -and they also already have Jumping Hills for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, which would keep Predazzo out of the project)... as you can see, there are still quite a few things to be determined before we can have a proper idea of what's going to look like our new bid... p.s. right now a meet between Malagò, the Milan and Cortina Mayors and Veneto and Lombardy Governors is underway...let's see what comes out from that...
  12. 2 more gold medal chances for Italy in this last couple of days...our beach volleyball girls proved that they are for real and after winning a tough battle against Brazil in the quarterfinals, yesterday they just destroyed the US girls in the semifinals... now they have to face the favourite Russians in the gold medal match... in boxing, our girl Martina La Piana first won her quarterfinal bout against the 2017 youth world champion Jyoti (IND, world champion on her home soil, for what counts...and for AIBA that counts more than anything else ) and then yesterday she dominated the reigning world youth champion Heaven Garcia (USA, she won the title just a month or so ago in Budapest) in the semifinal bout... now she has to fight against a Nigerian girl in the final...she can't actually boxe, but she's still very powerful and dangerous...and you know, in boxing anything is always possible with those judges...
  13. no, in any case at max it would be Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino (even if they would eventually include Predazzo and Val di Fiemme -which is not confirmed at all, since Mlan has still in charge the agreement with St.Moritz, they are NOT in South Tyrol, which is only Alto Adige, or the autonomous province of Bolzano/Bozen, if you prefer)...
  14. as far as I know, for the Tokyo Games they have proposed a format that sounds like this: 2 groups of 5 fighters (round robin), then the group winners go directly to the Gold medal match and the second and third from each group go to a repechage round (2A vs 3B and viceversa), the winner of that play for bronze... but right now it's only a proposal, the final decisions about the olympic format have yet to be taken (I know that the Italian federation have expressed their dislike for this format, they would prefer to have the top 2 in each group going to the semifinals...the group stage in any case seems to be sure with only 10 starters)...
  15. Rink Hockey Women's European Championships 2018 (Mealhada, POR) Gold: Spain or Portugal Silver: Portugal or Spain Bronze: Italy 4th, France 5th, Germany 6th, Switzerland 7th, England EDIT: wait a minute, my friends! I thought the Championship was over...but it's NOT!!! the decisive game between Spain and Portugal, in fact, it's not concluded yet...it's been stopped for security reason with still 1 minute and 45 seconds to be played (with Spain leading 3-2 at the moment of stoppage)... and now there's a battle in a trial court to decide when this last stint of the game is going to be played...a first proposed date (October 24th) was rejected by both Spain and Portugal National Federations... now they're trying to find an agreement on the first week of November, but things are still far from being confirmed... the soap opera is not over yet...
  16. the usual bunch of frustrated impotents that can't get it on even with a billion of viagra pills + the usual bunch of frustrated idiot feminists... welcome back to the darkest period of Middle Age, guys...
  17. I don't know... I hope he's "only" injured and that there are no problems with his Italian documents (actually, it shouldn't be the case, since he already was with our team at the Europeans last May...he did even win the bronze medal in Kaspiisk)... I sent an e-mail to our NF...I hope they give me an answer sooner or later...

  22. no way... in case, it would be Lombardy & Veneto, not Italy...
  23. she was born and raised in Ukraine (full name: Irina Petrovna Netreba), then about 6/7 years ago she switched to Azerbaijan... that's all I could find about her (since I don't know Russian/Ukranian well enough to make a deep research in that language)...
  24. and since this was the last event of the K1 PL season, this is about the tour winners... The class of 2018 of the “Best of the Best” of the Karate 1-Premier League was announced today as this year’s edition of Karate’s first-class series of international events concluded in Tokyo. Heroes of the sport such as Sandra Sanchez, Rafael Aghayev or Ayumi Uekusa were among the top karatekas receiving the recognition. The Grand Winner award distinguishes the best competitors of the season of Karate 1-Premier League. The honour goes to the karatekas leading the standings in each one of the twelve categories at the end of the season; it gives the athletes the right to wear the special karate-gi with the golden embroidery on the shoulders in next year’s edition of the competition. Karatekas from seven countries make the class of 2018 of the Grand Winners. Among the new “Best of the Best” are three competitors who celebrate back-to-back titles in the prestigious award. Sandra Sanchez of Spain, Serap Ozcelik of Turkey and Ayumi Uekusa of Japan are the three karatekas who will continue wearing the karate-gi with the golden embroidery next year. The list of the 2018 Grand Winners is the following: Female Kata: Sandra Sanchez (ESP) Female Kumite -50kg: Serap Ozcelik (TUR) Female Kumite -55kg: Sara Cardin (ITA) Female Kumite -61kg: Gwendoline Philippe (FRA) Female Kumite -68kg: Alizee Agier (FRA) Female Kumite +68kg: Ayumi Uekusa (JPN) Male Kata: Ryo Kiyuna (JPN) Male Kumite -60kg: Eray Samdan (TUR) Male Kumite -67kg: Burak Uygur (TUR) Male Kumite -75kg: Rafael Aghayev (AZE) Male Kumite -84kg: Ugur Aktas (TUR) Male Kumite +84kg: Jonathan Horne (GER) Turkey lead the 2018 edition of the Grand Winners by countries with four representatives.
