  1. yesss...vamos Cuba!...ops, I wrote it again...I mean, andiamo, Italia! Conyedo won a tough battle against the Mongolian guy and so we have another Cuban-born Italian in a Bronze medal bout... let's see if he can beat the last FS medal chance for the Host Nation, Pavlo Oliinyk (he too, not a proper Hungarian-born guy...but it's the modern globalized world, my friends )...
  2. and Japan makes it 2 out of 2 in the women's division... grass is green, water is wet and Serbia wins another team ballsport world title...
  3. what an end of the women's -55kg semi between Sidakova and Winchester! finally the last attempt of the US girl was denied by the video judge and the Belrussian won it...but it was fun to watch her praying and crying ad hoping while the refs were analyzing the video replay... in any case, tomorrow she'll be destroyed by the Japanese Mukaida, who had a relatively easy semi vs the Chinese girl...
  4. by the way, Sadulaev did look quite focused in the last couple of matches... I guess he wants some kind of revenge against Snyder...
  5. not this time... not Gold and/or Silver, at least (and I hope not even Bronze, considered that we still have Conyedo with a chance)... go Cuba...ops, I mean...go Italy!!
  6. and today's Medal Matches... -57kg Gold Medal Match: Zavur Uguev vs Nurislam Sanayev (AKA Artas Sanaa) Bronze Medal Match #1: Reineri Andreu Ortega vs Yuki Takahashi Bronze Medal Match #2: Thomas Patrick Gillman vs Suleyman Atli -65kg Gold Medal Match: Takuto Otoguro vs Bajrang Bajrang Bronze Medal Match #1: George Bucur vs Akhmed Chakaev Bronze Medal Match #2: Lee Seung Chul vs Alejandro Enrique Valdes Tobier -79kg Gold Medal Match: Kyle Douglas Dake vs Jabrayil Hasanov Bronze Medal Match #1: Davit Khutsishvili vs Akhmed Gadzhimagomedov Bronze Medal Match #2: Ezzatollah Akbari vs Ali Shabanau -92kg Gold Medal Match: Ivan Yankouski vs J'Den Michael Tbory Cox Bronze Medal Match #1: Turtogtokh Luvosandorj vs Atsushi Matsumoto Bronze Medal Match #2: Dato Marsagishvili vs Alireza Karimi

  8. and this is the last action in this morning's session... women's -55kg, QTFs b. b. b. b. women's -59kg, QTFs b. b. b. b. only close match was TUR vs MEX...and by the way, the Mexican girl, Alejandra Romero Bonilla...
  9. well, Oliinyk destryed that Canadian guy in the end... and Snyder had easy life against Conyedo...as expected... meanwhile it was very close between Alborov and Odikadze, but finally it was the Georgian guy to prevail (and the last desperate challenge by AZE didn't work this time)... men's FS -70kg, QTFs b. b. b. b. men's FS -97kg, QTFs b. b. b. b.
  10. his personal coach is the same he used to train with in Cuba... however, he's already on 74kg weight limit (meaning he has to cut a bit of weight to compete)...and maybe that's the problem...he used to dominate his opponents by being taller and quicker than them, but now he's not bigger than his rivals and had to put on more muscles to go in the 74kg class and he looks to have lost some of his main features (also because he's getting older, of course)... I don't know...maybe he's starting his descending phase...from now on, he's still going to be good, but not so dominant as he used to be... Gaidarov is the head coach of the FS team (it's his credit to have taken Kudiiamagomedov in Italy)... p.s. I haven't got any answer about him yet...I hope sooner or later to have fresh news...
  11. today's action so far... men's FS -70kg, QTFs vs vs vs vs men's FS -97kg, QTFs vs vs vs vs women's -55kg, QTFs vs vs vs vs women's -59kg, QTFs vs vs vs vs
  12. maybe we have a chance, really... provided Conyedo has no chance against Snyder, he should face the Mongolian in the repechage final and then Oliinyk in the Bronze Medal match (I refuse to think the Ukranian-born Hungarian loses to CAN in QTFs)... so, he could really make up for Chamizo's fail (by the way, I'm very disappointed about how he wrestled in both the semifinal bout vs Sidakov and even more in the Bronze medal bout vs Burroughs...he didn't even look the guy we've been used to watch in the last 4 years, since he's with Italy)...

Women's -57kg, Semifinals Jade Jones vs Skylar Park Zhou Lijun vs Raheleh Asemani Men's -80kg, Semifinals Damon Sansum vs Seif Eissa Nikita Rafalovich vs Raul Martinez Garcia fun facts...earlier today, in the women's round of 16 we did have the Tarvese sisters' derby (Jolanta vs Inese, who won it), meanwhile in the men's round of 16 we did have the Rafalovich brothers' derby (Nikita won over Maksim)...

  20. but in the last action it wasn't just a knee down and out...at a certain point, Takatani was out with both feet touching the ground...that's the moment where I think it's right to give Akbari 1 point...
  21. I think Akbari didn't complete the takedown (so, no 4-2 score...and in fact the Japanese won the challenge), but still forced Takatani out with both feet, so I guess the 1-pt score (and the 3-2 final result) is correct...
  22. very close bout between Takatani and Akbari...once every while Iranians can win in the last second...
  23. by the way, insn't any Iranian TV covering this event? EDIT: now I've seen your answer in the previous post...thanks!
  24. at the moment they are on mat C... https://www.mediaklikk.hu/m4-elo
