  1. and there's no 2 without the 3...Alice Bellandi completes the Italian party in Nassau...gold no.3 for us... best judo junior champs ever for Italy...and by far...
  2. easy 15-9 win for Lauren Williams against her Croatian opponent...just another day at the office for her... Women's -67kg Gold: Lauren Williams Silver: Matea Jelic Bronze: Victoria Tamez & Nur Tatar Askari
  3. yesssss! another great Gold medal for Italy... hopefully we won't waste all this talent by keeping these guys for years in the youth/2nd tier competitions...they should start immediately in the main team taking the place of those who failed miserably all season long...
  4. Hosseini is limping badly, but at least he's able to jump on the podium (with a bit of assistence, but still)...
  5. actually it's already underway...and Vermeer won Gold thank to another quick Ippon (1:38 mins this time)...
  6. oh, no...this looks very painful for Hosseini... I hope the injury is not too bad as it looks and he can recover quickly... by the way, because of this, Lee Dae-Hoon wins Gold by opponent's withdrawal... Men's -68kg Gold: Lee Dae-Hoon Silver: Mirhashem Hosseini Bronze: Bradley Sinden & Si Mohamed Ketbi
  7. so, a quick recap of today's Gold Medal matches... men's -68kg Lee Dae-Hoon vs Mirhashem Hosseini women's -67kg Lauren Williams vs Matea Jelic men's +80kg vladislav Larin vs In Kyo-Don
  8. men's +80kg, second semifinal In Kyo-Don b. Sun Hongyi 11-7
  9. men's +80kg, second semifinal Sun Hongyi vs In Kyo-Don
  10. Vladislav Larin b. Sajjad Mardani 15-12
  11. men's +80kg, semifinal #1 Sajjad Mardani vs Vladislav Larin
  12. yeah, I saw that match..amazing... meanwhile this second semi in the women's -67kg was the opposite...really boring... by the way, Matea Jelic won 5-0 against Nur Tatar, so the final will be between Jelic and local hero Lauren Williams...
  13. by the way, very unlucky draw for the only Italian at the start of GB Grand Prix... in the men's -58kg class, Vito Dell'Aquila, in fact, after a guy from Senegal in round #1, should face the no.2 seeded Mikhail Artamonov (RUS) in the second round and, should he make a miracle against the Russian, he would eventually find Hadipour (IRI) or Denisov (RUS) in round #3 before getting even close to the medal stage...
  14. women's -67kg, semifinals Victoria Tamez vs Lauren Williams Matea Jelic vs Nur Tatar Askari
  15. men's -68kg, semifinals Lee Dae-Hoon b. Si Mohamed Ketbi by DSQ (10 kyeongo, but the score was already 30-12 for the Korean)... Mirashem Hosseini b. Bradley Sinden 19-16 (Hosseini was already involved in the match of the day in the quarterfinals against Ahmad Abughaush, when he recovered a fight that nobody thought he could win with less than 20 seconds left)...
  16. let's start with this (but you can find a lot more of him on youtube): and also this one's not bad at all...
  17. by the way, today's gold medal matches are: men's -81kg: vs men's -90kg: vs women's -63kg: @Agger vs @heywoodu ...ops...I mean, vs women's -70kg: vs
  18. OMG!!! we did suck so much at senior level, but this junior champs are already the most successful ever for us... yesterday we won a Gold medal (thanks to Manuel Lombardo), today we have 2 fighters in the gold medal matches (Christian Parlati in the men's -81kg and Alice Bellandi in the women's -70kg class)... wow!!! good job, guys!
  19. luckily it didn't happen... but only because the guys didn't have "Paoletta"... p.s. by the way, you just can't play 1 vs 6 for all the 4th and 5th set of such match...today we've been lucky, but I don't think we can escape from the Serbian spider's web tomorrow if we don't look for more options...
  20. the first one (with 28 fighters in each class, we won't even have a 210th bout, we only have 27 matches per class, which makes 81 for the days with 3 weights at the start and 54 in day with 2 weights competing, for a grand total of 216 in the whole weekend)...
  21. today starts the Manchester Grand Prix... day #1 draws are here: http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/draw-day-1-manchester-2018-world-taekwondo-grand-prix/ and finally we also have a full streaming coverage, from preliminaries (with all the mats covered) to the finals: http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/competition/world-taekwondo-grand-prix/grand-prix-2018/manchester/live/
  22. by the way, the Games are over and for what concerns Italy we can only say we're very satisfied with our results (34 medals, 11-10-13...not counting the "mixed teams" events -where we had the best total )... as always, we won medals in many different sports, almost all those we entered some athletes...
  23. yes, it is... in the end, the French guy won because of its overall total (since he vaulted also 5.32 for a total of 10.37), but silver and bronze were deided by the best single performance (5.22 for the Jpanese guy and "only" 5.20 for the Russian guy), after tying the overall total at 10.32 (meanwhile placing results were 3+2 for JPN and 1+3 for RUS)...
