  1. meanwhile in the -60kg Ainagulov (KAZ) and Emelin (RUS) are already through to the semis after flashy superiority wins... nice and close match instead between Nejati (IRI) and Angelov (BUL)
  2. men's GR -130kg quarters: Kayaalp b. Kajaia Popp b. Abdellatif Mohamed Pino Hinds b. Ramonov Ghasemi-Monjezi b. Abdullaev which means that Turkey, Germany, Cuba and Iran mathematically got Olympic Quota places in this weight class...
  3. updated after today's repechage rounds... so, the final Quota distribution in those classes is: -67kg: / / / / / -87kg: / / / / / -97kg: / / / / /
  4. and quota also for Germany (Frank Staebler in the -67kg) and Turkey (Cenk Ildem in the -97kg, who beat the Iranian Saravi in the last repechage...I know someone wgho's gonna be quite frustrated by this result sorry, @MHSN)...
  5. quarterfinals in the men's GR -77kg Lorincz vs Galkinas Dilmukhamedov vs Nemes Chalyan vs Liakh Geraei vs Bjurberg Kessidis
  6. and that's an upset! Dilmukhamedov just won* 3-0 against Vlasov in the -77kg! *with the nice participation of the ref, of course...who gave a doubtful caution to Vlasov for the 0-3 and then allowed the Kazakh to waste all the time he needed to takew the win home...
  7. meanwhile the quarters in the men's GR -60kg are: Angelov vs Nejati Ciobanu vs Fumita Ainagulov vs Lizatovic Emelin vs Temirov
  8. by the way, Heiki "lucky" Nabi this time has not been so lucky...he's been thrown out in the round of 16 by Oscar Pino Hinds... in the men's GR -130kg we are almost ready for the quarterfinals, where all winners will get a straight pass to the Olympics for their respective NOC... the quarters are: Kajaia vs Kayalp Popp vs Abdellatif Mohamed Ramonov vs Pino Hinds Ghasemi-Monjezi vs Abdullaev
  9. wow! I just learned that Sofia Mulanovich is a great veteran of the sport...she was pro world champion (when that league was named ASP) already in 2004... and she's already inducted into the Hall of Fame of Surfing and she also has her footprint stuck into the Walk of Fame of Surfing... moreover, her last win on the pro circuit dates back to 2009...since then, she's been no longer part of the regulars of the pro circuit... so, her win in this world champ is something amazing...surely more than the ordinary gold medal from a WSL regular we had in the men's event... p.s. Brazil also won the Team Title, ahead of the USA and Japan...
  10. OK, the cornhole has got me KO...what's next?
  11. I don't really know how I could do to see one day 12000 hot fans shouting and jumping for a wrestling match/tournament in Italy... I'm so envious... p.s. thanks for sharing that video...
  12. especially that video is done very well... one thing about the written article...they say the bats can be alluminum or wood...nowadays the bats are always only made of wood...alluminum bats are only used in the NCAA (the US college system) and in Softball...
  13. if you like reading... https://www.rulesofsport.com/sports/baseball.html meanwhile, if you prefer watching (and listening)... however, you can find a lot of tutorials (both written and/or as a video) around the web...
  14. I tried to be gentle with him...today he looked more like a wrestler momentarily committed to Boxing, to say the least... but I guess his "aggressive" style (let's name it that way) impressed the judges enough to be declared the winner...
  15. 2019 European Baseball Championships Gold Medal match: Netherlands b. Italy 5-1 Bronze Medal match: Spain b. Israel 16-11 Final Standings Gold: Netherlands Silver: Italy Bronze: Spain 4th, Israel 5th, Czech Republic 6th, Germany =7th, Belgium =7th, France 9th, Great Britain 10th, Austria 11th, Croatia (Relegated to Div. II) 12th, Sweden (Relegated to Div. II)
  16. game over! congrats to The Kingdom Of The Netherlands... we've been lucky to escape quarters and semis thanks to our big bats, but against NED it was obvious that we needed at least a decent performance from our pitchers...and it didn't happen, as expected... I'd like to say that we're going to take our revenge at the OQT, but tbh I fear that next time round things can only get worse than this week... with thse pitchers, there's no chance we get the Olympic Quota place...
  17. yeah, today he was so impressive against a talented guy like Maryanyan... his move looks like a spinning/rotating head lock (I have to watch his match again and listen to the english sound to hear how they call it)...it's really spectacular...and I think the key for a move like that is more the precise grab and the speed of the execution rather than the pure strenght, so I think it might work well also at 67kg...
  18. Italy stranded with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th... you just can't waste chances like that in a European Gold medal match...
  19. @MHSN how realistic is the chance for Ota to go up to -67kg next year, if this Fumita is so good to close the door for him in the -60kg class? I mean, I don't any other Japanese so good in that class...he might (should) think something like that or do you think he's going to try and face Fumita also in next year's Jap trials with the heavy risk to watch the Games on TV?

  25. I think you're a bit too optimistic...to make the top 10, you need more than 10 gold medals...and frankly I don't see Brazil going that far, even if they could (easily?) win 2 gold medals in skateboarding and 1 in surfing...
