  1. China becomes the first host nation to fail to win a medal in team pursuit.
  2. Final for Kazakhstan. Let's see how the judges will promote Wu now.
  3. Embarrassment of riches.
  4. Quite possibly one last chance for Kazakhstan to score a medal.
  5. This is like our bura wind. One moment at peace, ten seconds later a hurricane.
  6. In all honesty, there is some truism in what our British friend is saying. TV ratings do matter. NBC ratings are reportedly only at half compared to Pyeongchang. Cases like Valieva are now becoming key. If someone who tested positive a month ago is allowed to start as if nothing happened, then the IOC is risking to have the Olympics become progressively more irrelevant (like the Oscars, for the mainstream audience).
  7. It's not quite the same. Monobobs used at the Youth Olympics are planks with no articulation. Steering is reduced to the minimum. Could almost be said that the drivers are merely passengers after the start.
  8. The trouble will be finding his team mate. Maeki? Hakola seems to suffer from the altitude, that would be my conclusion at least. Their women should have better chance at gold. That is, if they don't enter Kylloenen and Matintalo!
  9. Per rules, everyone uses the same sled in monobob. No flying carpets for Germany here.
  10. It's boring since she gets absolutely nothing for that performance. Not even Tv time.
  11. Damn. For a second I thought the judge who rang the bell eliminated Roeiseland!
  12. And there used to be archery events with two entries. The key word - "used to". Cross-country skiing reworked their unfair medal events. Biathlon ought to do the same.
  13. How many are getting lapped today?
  14. And the lap being very likely longer than 3.33 km.
  15. The winning time will be some 15 minutes slower than the first ever classic+free relay (Calgary 1988)! It will be 30 minutes slower than Pyeongchang/Sochi. So, yeah, someone seriously messed up the course measurement here. EDIT: Heck. This will likely be slower than the 4x10 classic relay from Sarajevo.
  16. Yeah, Kim was better in Pyeongchang than Alexander here. Officially he is the worst skiing tourist seen at the Olympics since Albertville 1992 (when there were no qualification standards). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_skiing_at_the_1992_Winter_Olympics_–_Men's_giant_slalom
  17. And all that for nothing. I don't know how is this happening again. Hyvarinen was quite good on the freestyle leg on the skiathlon. Either other nations take magic potions for the relays, or the Finns just can't work together.
  18. Hence why the funding has to go. It was their one job, and they failed miserably. Cash-flow/success ratio of the CroSki is quite ridiculous compared to most other federations.
  19. Nope. Cut the funding immediately.
  20. Wow... Maybe he will beat that weekend skier from Andorra now.
  21. This must be the longest 10 km course ever. They will be minutes slower than the winner of the women's 10 km race!
