Thank you, my friend! It is very painful, we have improved so much in swimming and I really thought this time we could finally win a medal in the pool. Of course we still have a few other chances like Gkolomeev and Siskos but I really thought Christou had the best chance, it hurts so much that he missed it by just .02. I would've rather he finished 7th or something. To be so close to a historic moment and not make it... It's hard to be positive in these moments, we lost 3 big medal chances within the span of a few hours (Christou, Gkountoura, Sakkari/Tsitsipas mixed doubles) However I hope Gianniotis can be an inspiration to all Greek Olympians, especially Christou as he is also a swimmer. He was 5th in Athens, then 4th in London (as the favourite) and everyone thought he missed his chance, then he came back to Rio at 36 yo and finally got his Olympic medal!

Any chance he will get caught doping and the bronze medal will be awarded to ?

The mixed doubles draw is really falling apart! Following the withdrawal of , I thought the clear favourites were followed by and Now all of these teams are out Wasted chance for us , but at least both of them are still alive in singles

It's always funny to see @hckošiceso negative about Slovakia's chances at every sport before every major competition and then they usually end up doing quite well in the end

Gkountoura with a solid 15-3 win to start

People say the same about our Prime Minister, that anytime he watches anyone or wishes them luck that it's a curse and his whole family is cursed. He even went as far as posting on Instagram when both Greek teams qualified for the Euroleague Final Four to show that he didn't jinx it when he wished them luck prior to the quarterfinals, because it's like the national joke Today he watched Tsitsipas and Sakkari though and everyone said they'd lose because of him but they both won

Very happy for Christou making the 100 backstroke final after being so close in Tokyo and missing out He has a huge chance to make history in the final with a medal but it will be very difficult... Also very sad for Makrygiannis coming in 9th, missing the final by 0.02 seconds . So close to having two Greek finalists! However he is young and if he can keep improving then we may see him in the final in 2028

Tsitsipas brothers lost in doubles today to , 11-9 in the match tiebreak! From what I watched Stefanos was very good but Petros made some mistakes and messed up a service game and some of his points on serve in the tiebreak. I thought it was a winnable match for them but oh well! At least now Stefanos can focus on singles and mixed where he will have a better chance to win a medal, let's see. Also I find it odd that our women's doubles team isn't playing their first round until Tuesday when it was supposed to be Saturday or Sunday according to the original schedule! It only rained for one day so it's a bit odd to me.

Comfortable 14-7 win for us over Romania to start I only saw the fourth period as there were so many Greek events going on at once so it's hard for me to really speak about our level.

Solid day for us, W2- and LW2X both comfortably through to the semifinals. LM2X 3rd and will have to go to the repechage.

Papastamos totally ran out of energy at the end Oh well, at least he is finally back, hopefully the next Olympic cycle will be kind to him so he can finally live up to his potential

I was also confident we could make an upset before the game began, but at one point we were trailing 0-7 then we finally woke up but it was too late. I expected at least a close game because our girls were really good this year, bronze at the European Championships and 4th at the World Championships where we probably should've won a medal. Maybe our girls were overwhelmed because it was their first Olympics for 12 of our 13 players? We seemed scared at times. USA also got 3 penalty shots (Stamatopoulou saved 1 of them) which didn't help either.

You must have not watched the first half when literally anything Greece did was called a foul

Αύριο θα έχουμε ίσως μια ευκαιρία για μετάλλιο με τον Παπασταμο αλλά είναι ουτσάϊντερ. Θα δούμε επίσης πολύ τένις και κωπηλασία και θα κάνει πρεμιέρα η εθνική πόλο ανδρών. Ας μην ξεχνάμε και τον Χριστου αλλά και τον Μακρυγιάννη στη κολύμβηση στα προκριματικά (και ημιτελικά αν περάσουν).

Ισχύει. Και στο πόλο χάλια ήμασταν σήμερα. Και ο Πετρούνιας μέτριος, μακάρι να περάσει στον τελικό. Για να δούμε τι θα κάνει ο Τσιτσιπάς. Δεν περιμένω τίποτα από την εθνική μπάσκετ αλλά μακάρι να με εκπλήξουν.

Embarrassing. I have no words really. The referees also didn't help and we had some bad luck to hit the post/crossbar so many times but still no excuses when you lose by 9 goals. Only good thing was we started to play better in the second half so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the next games...

They are all very good friends with each other too! Well I know Anna is close friends with Zorana and Antoaneta, so I'm assuming those two are with each other as well

I have no idea what happened, all I know is that this was her 5th Olympic event of her career and she never failed to make a final, worst result ever being 6th place. I was looking forward to hopefully having her win our first medal tomorrow. I have no words really
