    The WTA can’t really row back now without it possibly leading to them getting sanctioned in the USA. Don’t rule out sporting bodies being sanctioned for dealing with China in the years to come.

The IOC is risking a lot of damage defending China here - I don’t think they will be a Winter Olympics in 2030 at this rate as no one will bid.

    I feel the tensions over the future of Catalonia would worry the IOC - it could all explode at some point.

    I think it’s inevitable UEFA countries will boycott any possible 2028 World Cup.

    I will be surprised if they will be that pleased to have a bid where swimming is so far from the host city. Particualy in somewhere like Spain where there are major political tensions between Madrid and Barcelona.

    Not under one member one vote. They can and likely will be outvoted. But then they may well boycott. Or send b teams full of weaker players.

    I am not sure why they didn’t cancel it rather than it be devalued by only having a few competitors who have previously won world or Olympic medals
