  11. Exactly, age is nothing when it comes to motivation. Some athletes retire very young when they get a medal because they don't want to go through another 4-year cycle of intense training and diverting focus from family, studies, or whatever else it may be. Other athletes just love the thrill of winning medals or staying at the top for as long as possible.
