  1. I just realised Mulder and Scully from the X-Files had Dutch and Irish surnames What could this mean?.....The truth is out there.....
  2. Emma Watson has a lot to answer for
  3. Nice to see an Irish name at the top of the boys' list Liam is becoming very popular in many places now, as with Conor
  4. The top 10 names given to new born babies in Ireland last year were as follows: Boys: Jack James Daniel Conor Seán Adam Noah Michael Charlie Luke Girls: Emily Emma Ava Sophie Amelia Ella Lucy Grace Chloe Mia The most popular surnames (family names) are as follows: Murphy Kelly O'Sullivan Walsh O'Brien Byrne Ryan O'Connor O'Neill O'Reilly So presumably Jack Murphy and Emily Murphy are the two most popular names for new-borns
  5. What's your idea?
  6. Wow!! What a ride by Mullen, I didn't expect this!
  7. My Mam isn't impressed
  8. Scotland wearing their "traditional" pink I see
  9. Wow, that's impressive that you have played all but those two. This week was the first meeting between Ireland and Moldva for example. There are still 4 other European teams we haven't played. Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Ukraine and Kosovo. We have played friendlies against Greece and Belarus but never a competitive match. It's hard to believe we have never been in the same group as Greece
  10. Luxembourg, playing the entire second half with 10 men have drawn 1-1 away against Belarus. The impressive thing is, this is no longer a big surprise. Luxembourg (as with many of the so-called "minnows" of Europe) have been showing good quality in recent times. Edit 1: The referee blew the final whistle one minute too early and is now resuming play Edit 2: And for a second time, the match is over
  11. Don't worry, no one in their right mind would confuse the two
  12. All Rio 2016 boxing judges sidelined and under investigation, not that it means anything. http://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1042360/aiba-sidelines-all-referees-and-judges-used-at-rio-2016-olympics-amid-investigation
  13. Cool, and nice to see someone else still has some old tapes besides me
  14. IRELAND The Corrs Runaway "Runaway" Say it's true, there's nothing like me and you I'm not alone, tell me you feel it too And I would run away I would run away, yeah I would run away I would run away with you Cause I am falling in love with you No never I'm never gonna stop Falling in love with you Close the door, lay down upon the floor And by candlelight, make love to me through the night Cause I have run away I have run away, yeah..., yeah I have run away, run away I have run away with you Cause I am falling in love with you No never I'm never gonna stop Falling in love with you... With you... And I would runaway I would runaway, yeah.... I would runaway I would runaway with you Cause I am falling in love with you No never I'm never gonna stop Falling in love with you... Falling in love with you No never I'm never gonna stop falling in love with you With you, my love, with you...
  15. I think this song may have represented Azerbaijan already in the TISC Open 2015.
  16. Will these changes affect the overall weightlifting quota for the next Olympics or will the overall quota stay the same and be re-distributed from the existing categories?
  17. Yesss!! This is wonderful news, it's an honour and pleasure to be the 2016 Olympic field hockey champion Big congrats to my fellow medalists rybak and LDOG for their very nice result. And of course to the organisers for their dedication and giving up their time to make these contests possible, I say Thank You .
  18. There are still quite a lot of nations (25 to be exact) who participated in previous editions of TISC who are yet to enter for TISC Open 2016. 3 of those nations are among 19 nations who have been ever-present since the very first edition in 2013. 11 of those nations have been present in every Open edition of TISC. Here are the full details: Nations which have participated in every previous TISC edition: Nations which have participated in every previous TISC Open edition: Nations by number of previous TISC appearances: 6 appearances 5 appearances 4 appearances 3 appearances 2 appearances 1 appearance
  19. Our medal target of 8 medals exceeded with our 9th medal at these Games from Niamh McCarthy. It was a low target but so was our Olympic target and we didn't even reach that
  20. Thank you, looking forward to the Lithuanian adventure
  21. Thanks, and the same for your athletes
  22. An awesome career indeed Ireland's target is 8 medals at these Paralympics which is much lower than last time in London 2012 where we won 8 golds and 16 medals in total. Jason Smyth and Michael McKillop will be going for their 4th gold medals on the track here. Hoping for some good results
