  1. 7th place for our 16-year old diver, Tanya Watson!!
  2. Beijing 2008 was my favourite Olympic ceremony. It was magical, and the lighting of the flame was just wonderfully done. The closing ceremony when the flame was extinguished was one of the saddest moments ever
  3. Did you try "Clear History and Website Data" in the iPhone settings?
  4. Surely not in the 100m dash? Those races are over in a flash Ready, set go, A puff and a blow, 10 secs later heywoodu loses more cash
  5. Well good to see Thomas through to the final but that looked a lot more laborious than I would have liked.... not sure he is in the form to take a medal here and the lane draw probably won't help him either.
  6. 5th place finish for Lydia in the Omnium.... just being passed by the Russian at the end. Hopefully the start of a successful Olympic qualifying journey
  7. Good performances by our 100m girls, Phil through to the semis and Gina just missing out by 0.02. She is only 19 years old so will gain a lot of experience here and i was actually glad she was in the heat with the false-start, as that kind of championship experience is invaluable. With a raft of good juniors coming through also, I'm hoping we will have the full compliment of qualifiers in Tokyo and a relay team too! (I don't ask for too much ).
  8. Belgium and Germany already stamping their authority on this race.
  9. Hoping for a top 5 for Downey and English in the madison.
  10. The man is a legend!
  11. Definitely not missing that! Where is it next year?
  12. Yes, sadly.... it's probably the first men's 50km walk at Euros, World or Olympics I will have missed since 2007 .
  13. Normally would be up for the 50km walk because, yes I am that die-hard fan , but no chance with work.... so not feeling the hype right now
  14. 6-0, and a really tough lesson from the Dutch girls. Still super proud of our team, a team of amateurs who apart from a couple of players, all have full-time jobs outside of the sport. And they had to make huge sacrifices and pay their own way in order to compete. A silver medal is a fantastic achievement
  15. Ok, time for the medal ceremony now....
  16. Irish commentator: "So, the end of Quarter 1, and yes the Dutch have scored..... but it's only one!" Summing up the mood quite well
  17. Time for the anthems
  18. No, no, no.... with a reaction like that you were clearly dreaming of @heywoodu's lost clothes scenario.
  19. I demand you go back to sleep and inform me what happens!!
  20. I see And we still lost 5-6 right?
  21. I remember that the Irish and Dutch mechanical teams used to co-operate with each other (not on the track )
  22. Cool, thanks for the explanation. Awaiting a 10-0 drubbing now
  23. What kind of cheese were you eating last night??
  24. It was amazing, my favourite Motorsport event and I am saying that even before we won. I loved it, even my Mam loved it too
