  1. Timo Boll In the final again! What an athlete! Great match, hard luck to Franziska.
  2. has never missed the Open contest so let's hope they will make it to the USA for this edition
  3. Murphy's Law sounds more Irish don't you think?
  4. So will today finally be the day that Ireland qualifies a showjumping team for the Olympics since Athens 2004? Crazy to think that it's been so long, but I still would not bet on it. Tough teams ahead and behind us in the standings.
  5. So great to see the team get a well-deserved big reception for their arrival home. Well done to all who came out to greet the team at such an early hour of the morning, our fans never cease to amaze me
  6. "Give me the job or else...." That should do the trick
  7. Don't tempt fate
  8. And then finish 7th tomorrow and 0.01 from Olympic qualification. And then all will be right in world of showjumping
  9. He had 2 good seasons but he was never reliable either in the way Cian O'Connor, Jessica Kuerten or Dermot Lennon were with their top horses.
  10. Yes I have
  11. Still though, hard to excuse that shambles But the truth is they were not strong enough to challenge. We haven't had a top showjumper who can deliver for a decade now, never mind 4 of them.
  12. Another epic fail for the Irish showjumpers We don't have any particularly strong showjumpers anyway.
  13. Well, Ireland will hopefully make it that far at least
  14. How many teams will qualify for the final round after the first round proper (second competition)? 10 teams?
  15. Father and son with their silver medals:
  16. That was absolutely sick and a disgrace really. He had the next fence down and that cost them qualification.... and that fence hadn't fallen all day so it was very unfair. And remember, they just missed out to Sweden at the WEG in 2014 for the last qualification spot by a tiny margin, so yeah... I'm pretty numb to showjumping disasters at this stage, it just comes with the territory of being an Irish fan.
  17. It's one for the horror category . And it always culminates in the most cruel fashion too where we almost make it, but miss out by 0.01 or something. Even Cian O'Connor's surprise bronze at London 2012 came with 2 cruel twists.... 0.02 over the time for a time penalty (thus denying him the chance of gold) and then the last fence down in the jump-off for the silver
  18. Typical Awaiting another Olympic qualification disaster as is the norm.
  19. Yes, I have to now after such a solid performance! I believe the Olympic course (and possibly even the Europeans) will be a lot more testing in terms of cross country but this team is capable of everything it seems
  20. Silver for Padraig and Mr.Chunky!! What a day for us!!
  21. Team silver at least and an individual medal
  22. Back just in time! The tea is even ready
  23. Thanks for the info I will leave a trail of dust in my wake tomorrow, because as soon as 16:30 comes, I am outta there!
  24. So I finish work at 16:30 Irish time.... how many of our guys will I get to see if I get home by, let's say 17:00?
  25. Plus you can still make history as the first to win or to be the most successful one
