I can't explain myself, I think it honestly comes down to the fact that the songs that I ranked 9th to 16th all had better parts of the song. But then those songs ran into some slightly off-putting problems, an example could be Israel's overuse of voice cracking at the end of a good song. Though I was more keen to listen to other songs around it, the "Battlefield" song was just more polished overall, even if I felt more spark from the songs below it.

I had a very very weird feeling with The United States. I scored it in 8th place, but the song felt somewhat soulless. I don't know how to explain it, it was not bad enough for me to not score it, but it never felt like the song had something within it, that could do damage at the top. I somehow thought that I would have US outside of my top 12, but after every single listen, I found more problems with the songs below it. Really good voice, good melodies, but emotionally I felt nothing, yet it's still my 8th place somehow. BIZZARE

Every single time a contest starts, I eagerly wait to hear what Slovakia, Argentina, Bulgaria sends. For Slovakia and Argentina, it's because it's been a long time since I last scored you and I still believe that one contest I will be pleasantly surprised and proudly give points to you, but at the end of the day it's all about taste, so you really needn't think of songs that I would like, it's just a fun bonus if our tastes align and I'm patiently waiting for that day again. As for Bulgaria, I've scored them twice recently, but they tend to not be well received during contests, so I'm glad every time they land in my top 12. I also feel bad for the handful of countries that I haven't scored in 19 contests still, Greece, Egypt, Venezuela and Tunisia. But it's only a matter of time, hopefully
