  2. And in Indonesia people thought it was because of Antonsen winning the Indonesian Masters :P
  3. Taiwan: Man beat son and choked wife because of the meatball which the son bought "doesn't have chilies in it". Local gang members gave the man a few slaps while angry residents outside cooking lots of chilies and threaten to shove chilies to the man.
  4. Welp.. I suggest remove the team event in synchronized swimming so we can have male synchronized duet On a serious note I've always thinking of limiting marathon size to 100 (or even 85) and there you have it: 100 quotas to those who need it.
  5. Judging from what happened in recent biddings from Guadalajara, I don't think they can be consired to "have the economy"?
  6. Well there is a possibility Kosovo decided to not putting a team, so Spain can host the Games without causing problem. Event-wise yes they definitely can do that, but ceremony-wise....
  7. Russia and Spain are problematic choices... Perhaps Bulgaria will take it... Since it is Herr Bach himself who pushed Sofia to bid
  8. So basically Denmark is using conservative Asian ways, while some Asian countries started to leave the strict sponsorship/commercial agreements for national team players. Interesting. Earlier, Steen Pedersen also tweeted some possible lineups for mixed team Championships (for EMTC and maybe Sudirman), but I found out some of the players such as Kim Bruun and Julie Finne-Ipsen were also part of the group who rejects the agreement.
  9. 2024 Winter YOG candidates: ( is also reported to show 'interest') https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1074025/russia-expresses-interest-in-hosting-2024-winter-youth-olympic-games
  10. This is getting out of control... I thought only Asian federations would do this. Denmark is hosting EMTC 2019 and this means they might not even grab the title in front of their home crowd. I hope they will finally settle.
  11. Ohh now I am sometimes pissed about how often I broke the lights instead of clicking the notification icon in mobile
  12. The magic of football is even though your national team is s**t, your federation is just a bunch of greedy thieves, and the national league is full of crazy stuff, people will still follow it... Badminton on the other hand, is not popular for TV broadcasters recently due to its duration (more than 5 hours at the longest). For the past 5 years badminton broadcast has been minimal (Indonesia Open and a handful of major events). And the TV stations cited the current badminton rights fee is too expensive (but they bought rights for Premier League and World Cup) and ridiculously claimed that it is not popular among viewers. Those who want to watch badminton must use VPN to stream from Youtube or subscribe to a certain Pay TV provider. Our public broadcaster unable to afford the rights (and they are the only station who broadcasted badminton this year)... I am not saying badminton is not popular anymore in Indonesia but since no one is showing it, most people will just watch what is readily available. In conclusion > minimum (free) TV exposure > less new fans > even old fans are leaving > popularity drop
  13. I voted "Good" since this year is a year where our athletes using the Asian Games momentum to perform well (even though some of our gold isn't really "gold"). We also managed to keep that momentum in some sports, such as weightlifting. And this year is just like an awakening for Indonesian people who only watch and follow football. It gives people the understanding "there are people out there who do something else than 22 people ball kicking game". Literally Asian Games and Asian Para Games have driven the Indonesians to stop arguing about politics for 1.5 months. But yeah the party must end no matter what and unfortunately people are back to their usual traits...
  14. It is kinda annoying actually lol.. When Prince Albert visited Indonesia in October... I still hope someday (together with Chad-Romania) they will change.. Despite one article of our constitution stated the flag cannot be changed unless the country collapses
  15. That's just absurd. It's Indonesia! But anyway, the IOC code BRN is famous for making commentators mistaking it for Brunei (it should be Bahrain).
  16. Well if every major cities and provincial capital of your country got their own Olympic Sport Center, you can just spread a map and play dart-to-host :P
  17. After FISU secret negotiations with Turkmenistan and Korea broke down, finally Chengdu is going to be the host for 2021 Summer Universiade. Also this continues the10 year cycle: Beijing 2001 - Shenzhen 2011 - Chengdu 2021
  18. Be careful for what you wished for.. Demonstration occured in West Sumatra criticizing the president for his focus in building new infrastructures. The sign reads "we don't eat infrastructure??" And yesterday one major route between two big cities in West Sumatra collapsed
  19. Whew it's getting more and more dramatic.
  20. Saw this on 9GAG and instantly remembered your comment
  21. In 2015 there was cookie wars, now this.. Hopefully it is resolved soon, since it will be sad if Denmark sent weak teams to Tokyo Olympics and Thomas/Uber in their home soil.
  22. BWF Major Events Hosts 2019-2025 World Championships 2021: TBA, Spain 2022: Tokyo, Japan 2023: Copenhagen, Denmark 2025: Paris, France Thomas/Uber Cups 2020: Aarhus, Denmark 2022: Bangkok, Thailand 2024: TBA, China Sudirman Cup 2021: TBA, China 2023: New Delhi, India 2025: TBA, China World Junior Championships 2019: Kazan, Russia 2020: Auckland, New Zealand 2021: TBA, China 2022: TBA, Spain 2023: Honolulu, Hawaii, USA World Senior Championships (Veteran) 2021: TBA, Spain 2023: Seoul, South Korea 2025: Auckland, New Zealand One small drama about this bidding: Indonesia and Malaysia refused to bid due to unfairness in revenue sharing by BWF. China also stated its intention to follow suit, but later keep their bids and won the most events lol
  23. C'mon Stockholm, it's not 2006 anymore...
  24. We had our first ever Indonesian Sports Awards on Friday. Basically most of the awards are useless since it is based on popular vote and used the priority of Football > Badminton > Some Memorable/Viral Athletes > I don't know who they are. Here are the winner of non-vote awards: Athlete of the Year: Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon (Badminton) Young Athlete of the Year: Lalu Muhammad Zohri (Athletics) Coach of the Year: Herry Iman Pierngadi (Badminton, the coach of athlete of the year ) Sport Club/Institution of the Year: PB Djarum Badminton Club (Kevin Sanjaya's club ) Lifetime Achievement Award: Christian Hadinata (Badminton)
