  1. It is not 1st and 2nd it is 1st &1st. That is what they intended. May not be malicious for you but others may think so. FYI: I don't think malicious but I don't think it is right
  2. In 2012 Chinese badminton pair intentionally lost to avoid facing another Chinese pair so they can win 2 medals. I am obviously not comparing both because the Chinese incident is far far worse than this issue. But I mentioned it because you said best results for country. They also went for best results for their country so can we justify on the basis of pride of country or best for country.
  3. We are not saying they fixed it for money or anything. But they both were involved in a decision which is not theirs. They didn't do justice to their hard work. If they had mutual acknowledgement for each other it could have been shown through competing to win. Saying that endurance races are unique is justified but what if this happens in an Olympic. You cannot say make one rules for one event and another for another. That brings injustice.
  4. There is no country in the world where some form of fixing hasn't happened in sports. So according to what you are saying it is like no one should talk about fixing. My dear friend we didn't bring nationality into the equation, you brought it. We are saying such practices might be against sportsmanship. According to what I was thought sportsmanship is giving your all on the pitch and trying to win & not cheating or unfair means.

  6. Yeah I agree with your view. If it was some others sports they might not have seen it as sportsmanship and athletes would have to face severe consequences.

  17. No. Ball badminton is played in University level competition. Most people don't even know about the game. So no it is not a sport you would call a regional sport or not least a popular sport.
  18. Field hockey in India. At the time of Hockey being named as national sport India was utterly dominant. India had won 6 consecutive ?in Olympic from 1928-56. The most popular sport in India in terms of viewership is Cricket. Kabaddi is the most popular native sport. Badminton is another popular native sport. There are also many regional sports in every region whose popularity is restricted to that region only.
