It just hasn't been a good year for hockey in Canada in general really. You have the World Juniors disaster, the Women's Worlds heartbreaker, and the shocking Men's Worlds upset, all of which happened in just this one year. And top that with the Hockey Canada sexual assault case in the summer and it's just been a gong show for this entire organization. But idk, sometimes when you hit rock bottom, the only way you can go is up.

Through a total of 7 games played between Canada and the US, Canada is 1-6 so far (there is still one match to go). This is way down from 5-4 in 2023 and 7-2 in 2024.

Yea skaters switching countries isn't really an unusual thing. A lot of this happens when they're trying better to go for international competitions. Either way I do feel Skate Canada needs some sort of change in leadership because whatever Mike Slipchuk or whoever is running this org is doing is not working. It's just been the same thing behind the scenes for the past few years.
