  1. That's objectively false. If all you care is the number of medals at the WCh (why? they are not even that much more important than World Cups), and all the rest of the year is worth nothing, you should really pick another country to support -the Italian system is not, and hopefully will never be, based only on that. To say that there has not been any progress since 2018 in this thread (freestyle skiing being the biggest example of a huge progress) is quite something. that means that, like the whole season suggested, we will have a lot of medal chances next year. In the summer it was the opposite - many World Champions and medalist who later came short at the Olympics. Being third or fourth today will hardly change anything about what can happen in 2026. I much prefer having a lot of consistent podium finishers in the World Cups week after week.
  2. Who are the Russian athletes who are refugees in Italy?
  3. Antropova has moved to Italy as a kid (she's way more Italian than some people claiming to be Italian despite not even knowing the language decently) , nothing related to hiring random Russians as if national teams were club.
  4. A lengthy ban on the Norwegian team would only be fair in this case.
  5. It's probably difficult to understand if you grew up where this is normal, but for most sport fans outside of North America halftime shows make as much sense as futsal matches on the stage in the middle of a concert.
  6. mancano snowboard, freestyle, short track, pattinaggio velocità e figura, curling... a meno di disastri dappertutto si dovrebbe arrivare a ben più di 10-12 medaglie.
  7. Big money, good lawyers for the liar sinner - now back to South Tyrol Monaco to take some boosters in time for Roland-Garros.
  8. this is not a mixed sex event though, the only mixed one was axed from the program. It's FIS being stupid.
  9. Another show before the final
  10. She won a medal 6 years ago in the same event
  11. opening ceremony in the middle of the event, how beautiful.
  12. This heat system format in snowboardcross is much more suitable for a big championship event, they should use it at the Olympics as well.
  13. She has competed for Brazil some 20 days ago...OAsport writers must have taken long holidays and needed more time than usual for their "copy, paste and add a clickbait title/intro" article
  14. Nah, they'll be in the same pot for the draw of the playoff paths.

  16. They've likely hidden other big names' bans in the past. It looks like this is the way things go when the money involved become too much.
  17. Tennis is basically like an American sports league in regard to doping issues, sanctions are a joke and/or kept hidden.
  18. IMO the Italian federation was right in not giving to that financial and political blackmail - had they accepted it, plenty of more established athletes in snow sports could have asked for more under the threat of changing nationality. It's not like they had a sports almanac from the future saying that that 15yo girl would have won 5 olympic gold medals and 5 overall world cups.
  19. Nonsense. Chamizo moved to Italy, married an Italian, he's still here after many years and was essentially banned from competing for Cuba. Colturi's tie to Albania is that the Albanian federation had invested a ton of money in her mother's business (élite and very costly academy for young skiers), and then gave her a role, and probably another big salary, as a director in exchange for the pomise of their first winter Olympic medal. A better comparison is to that archer who competed for Ivory Coast because her father had a big clothing business in the country.
  20. Because they want to be able to say they they respected the official athlete quota of (whatever the number is). Same reason for not counting alternates that will surely partecipate, it's not a practical matter but a political one.
  21. Wtf, did he randomly drop 12 seconds from his best?
  22. Tickets price and some more info: https://milanocortina2026.olympics.com/en/news/milano-cortina-2026-ticket-prices-revealed
  23. To pass that pin, they could have done a hug. I think the whole scene seems made to arrive to the kiss (why is Gil-galad there but is not involved in treating? He should be the one to decide after all), so to cater to the romantic part of the audience (again, soap opera style) and to get negative reactions from who knows that it'd be sacrilege in this world. As for the orcs, same as everything else - they want to add something revolutionary in that world but then immediately inconsistent. One scene orcs want to be loved, the next one savagely licking blood from knives (copied from LotR of course), then back to wanting love. It's like they didn't read the script they wrote.
  24. I think it has the writing of a soap opera, plotlines does not make sense, characters have an average IQ near zero, full of internal inconsistencies, without any sense of scale, space and time. "Dinner time TV" that is more enjoyed watching it in the background, but with a wasted huge budget - some good showrunners could have made it a least on a Game of Thrones level series. The "Inside of episode" stuff is really comical when the showrunners and directors speak. Sadly it's the only "Middle-earth" series as of now. Ah, I forgot: every few minutes there are callbacks to the movies + quotes straight up ripped from them but placed at random, like a sit-com.
  25. Next step: no more surnames but S-girls and S-boys + nickname.
