It's based on my interpretation of the qualification document: According to that section, the quota goes to the next highest-ranked NOC which has not yet qualified for the respective event - Colombia has already qualified a rider for the individual sprint through the keirin ranking so by my reading, they would not be eligible for quota reallocation and it would move down to Hungary.

Final track cycling quota projection: I think there are 2 quota reallocations on the cards on the men's side - Israel and Suriname don't have a second eligible rider and so they will have to reject the quota. Assuming that is the case, I'd project that and will get an individual quota for sprint/keirin. On the women's side, there is only 1 quota which should be subject to reallocation - Italy don't have an eligible second rider in the keirin/sprint behind Miriam Vece. In the most likely scenario, Italy will probably reject the keirin quota resulting in picking up the spot for sprint/keirin. However, it may be possible that Italy could accept the second individual keirin quota and use it to nominate an extra endurance rider. Technically, I don't see anything in the qualification document that would prevent this - unless the eligibility clause relating to 10 points applies to the individual event - and it would give them the option of resting a rider for team pursuit qualifying. Given the team pursuit is run over 2 days rather than 1, I'm not sure it would actually give them that much of an edge though, so I'd still expect them to return the quota.

Can't see scenario where you get a second quota. Poland improved their ranking in Keirin after Milton but it wasn't enough to get into a quota spot and I think because they already have a quota in the event, they would not be eligible for any reallocation.

Amber Simpson breaks the 70m barrier for the first time in the hammer event at Garry Wieneke Memorial Illinois. I think that's a 3m PB but she'll still need to find another 2m to meet the UKA standard.

Amelia Campbell got an outdoor season's best of 17.71m at the Beach Invitational in California over the weekend - still someway short of the 18.03 she achieved in January in Spain.

Adam Gemili and Jerimiah Azu may not have made it on to the World Relays squads, but at least we can say they are not injured. They were both competing in the X Athletic Elite Meeting in Milan. For some reason best known to themselves, they opted to compete over 150m Anyhow, Azu won in a time of 15.33 seconds whilst Gemili was 3rd in 15.73.

I don't think Walls is eligible for selection - I can't find record of him competing in the qualifying events so hasn't got the 10 UCI ranking points. I think the endurance team is likely to be Bigham, Tanfield, Hayter and Vernon and I can see the merits in having Tarling available as an extra wheel. I think Hayter has done enough to get the nod for the Omnium but the Madison is more tricky to predict as we don't really have an established team who are consistently on the podium. Could see them opting for Tarling, but who they would pair him with is up for debate.

Yes they do and I expect them to take Kwesi Browne as their second rider. In order to be eligible for selection the rider has to have gained at least 10 UCI points in a qualifying event - '23 & '24 Nations Cup events, '23 World Champs and '23 and '24 Continental Champs

Yes you can qualify 2 individual riders in the sprint/keirin and technically, it is possible for it to be the same athlete that qualifies in both events. Take Trinidad & Tobago as an example - it has been Nicholas Paul's results that have secured the quota in individual sprint and in keirin but they will be able to take Kwesi Browne as their second athlete. It is more complicated for Israel and Suriname as they don't have a second eligible rider so they will not be able to take their second quota.

I know I am in the minority here, but I'm still not buying into Backstedt making the squad. With Georgi and Henderson locked in for selection (barring injury), Anna Shackley is probably third rider so that only leaves 1 more space and I'm not convinced it will be Backstedt who fills that last place.

They should be safe for 2 quotas on both the men's and women's side - but it will be tight. For the men, GB are currently in 7th place but will drop below USA when the points from Mairipora are added in. GB have about 350 point cushion over 9th placed Denmark and 10th placed Brazil so if Aldridge and Orr can have steady results in the next couple of races, then they should be able to do enough to stay ahead of both countries. Not sure what Pidcock's schedule is for this season, but he has traditionally competed in Nove Mesto towards the end of May - if he does that again this year, then it would definitely make it easier to keep those 2 individual quotas. For the women, it basically comes down to Evie Richards vs Anna Henderson of Australia and at the moment in the head-to-head, Richards comes out on top. GB currently have 500 point cushion and that will increase slightly after this weekend's action is taken into account.

The PanAmerican BMX Racing Champs took place this weekend and with Mariana Pajon taking the title, Colombia have picked up over 400 additional ranking points. GB are now likely to trail Colombia by about 800 points. If that gap is going to be closed, I think realistically, Shriever will need to win at least one of the next 2 World Cups.

By my calculation, I think it will go to Egypt - Algeria needed to finish 21st in order to gain enough points to overtake Egypt and they came up just short in 22nd.

Been out of action for most of the weekend so not had a chance to go through all of the results yet but it looks like it has been a good weekend for the athletes with OQT for Cindy Sember (12.57) and Amber Anning (50.08) at the Tom Jones Memorial. On a less positive note, Matt Hudson-Smith was DNF in his race at the same event but then again, I think he pulled up in a couple of races last year and was still able to pull it out of the bag when it mattered.

It seems Bianca Cook hasn't given up on getting to Paris and will be representing going forward. By making the switch, it seems she will be eligible to compete at the European Champs with an ultimate goal of being able to do enough to persuade the selectors to pick her over Rebecca McGowan.
