Paula Badosa keeps the Spanish flag flying as she makes GS QF for the second time in her career and is on the verge of getting back to Top 20 of the ranking

won four medals which is above expectations. The decathlon was the only stonewall chance we had coming in. Mixed relay was probably an outsider but the medals in women's LJ and 400H were totally unexpected.

Angelina Topic is the only one over 1.91m and wins gold medal in the HJ. She needed three attempts to go over 1.89 though but avoided the upset.

Absolutely horrendous last change from in women's 4x100 relay final. They had a big lead but the last runner went off waaay too fast

Djokovic's defeat means for the first time since 2002 we'll have a calendar year without Federer, Nadal or Djokovic winning at least one of the Grand Slams on the men's side

Alexei Popyrin beats Novak Djokovic in four sets in R3. Totally deserved, Popyrin outplayed Djokovic for majority of the match. It's 11.50 pm in NY and Sabalenka vs Alexandrova is yet to start.

Natalia Kałucka is the former World Champion but she couldn't start in Paris OG due to nations quota. The fact Poland finished 1-2 in the women's event isn't a big surprise

Well, the Ochonogor who finished 12th in Olympic Games final only came 5th in the LJ here. Men's 100m had the podium with two from that OG silver relay and Boonson who was in the OG semi-final.

Nope, junior sport in general is obscure in Poland. I'm not that familiar with all the top names in junior athletics myself even though it tends to be unpredictable almost by default.

Women's Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova lost to Elena-Gabriela Ruse in R2 already. Still an upset if any upset is standard for WTA anyway Big chance for Paula Badosa to make a run in this section of the draw now.
