  1. This is what you get with 80 year olds running the politics
  2. Let's hope it won't be too confusing with Norway? Not like we should expect the Fialkova family team to keep up with most of the Norwegians anyway?
  3. Looks like the Sauber buyout has been finalised. Which means Alfa Romeo becomes Audi.
  4. No way they're moving the NA races before the Thanksgiving weekend IMO. Early December dates in Europe were also often compromised, it just so happens that most countries have the best winter conditions around the same time. You can stage races in March in the arctic parts of Sweden, Finland and Norway. As for expanding the calendar, well, as long as Shiffrin doesn't retire US TV might be interested in carrying the coverage. If only she hangs it up then I can see a World Cup calendar with zero NA races.
  5. Some high-profile progressive Democrats busted for sending a letter to Joe Biden urging him to negotiate directly with Putin and ignore Ukraine in the talks. Cortez-Ocasio among those useful idiots who signed it.
  6. Will this be another Maribor-like annual shitshow? I assume they counted on late October/early November being suitable to have snow at such high altitude but if this doesn't work there's like no other place to put this on calendar given how Wengen is locked and St. Moritz would be unwilling to move around. And they won't throw the North American races to March like it was in the 80s.
  7. Tomasz Wójtowicz (Olympic & World Champion in volleyball) passed away from cancer at the age of 69.
  8. Well, firing Joe Girardi turned out to be a good move Then again Astros should be huge favorites in WS (no way Yankees come back from 0-3 down in ALCS).
  9. Well, it was about time Lance Stroll reminded everyone he's only riding his daddy's wallet in F1...
  10. Yeah, there were some reports of his ill health in the last few weeks. The question remains whether the Red Bull co-founder's son is a racing fan too? Red Bull has sponsored many other sport events, not just motor racing.
  11. Playoff groups: Group A: Portugal / Cameroon / Thailand Group B: Chile / Senegal / Haiti Group C: Panama / Paraguay/ Chinese Taipei / Papua New Guinea Anyway, two hosts got very favorable groups but New Zealand can crash out versus the two UEFA teams for sure, Sweden & Germany got the easiest groups among the top teams. Given the underwhelming Netherlands performance lately, Portugal is not without a chance to cause an upset if they win their playoff match.
  12. Lack of snow in October... even on Matterhorn? I fear this might be a common theme going forward.
  13. beat 84-0. I suppose not many people care about rugby league in Scotland?
  14. Since more or less everyone except ice hockey & tennis kicked the Russians out there's no way they will co-opearate on the Valieva case anymore. Plus figure skating just isn't all that important sport in the global terms.
  15. Was about to post it. That is quite a flop from Halep who ended her season after USO due to having a nosejob. Yeah, it's more sinister than that. It also explains why Mouratoglou suddenly started working with Holger Rune. Big story in WTA who doesn't need any more bad news but they got it anyway.
  16. Szczepan Kupczak had called it a career. He will focus on being the head coach of women's ski jumping team from now on. This leaves Polish NC with two active senior athletes at international level - Andrzej Szczechowicz and Pawel Szyndlar (who picked up some cheap points FIS points last March by attending Continetal Cup in Park City and Lake Placid where she finished dead last in all four starts ).
  17. Carolina Panthers traded RB Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco 49ers. Safe to say Panthers are in pole position for #1 draft pick now.
  18. That didn't take long. Liz Truss has resigned https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63332037 You might wonder how many Tories will come forward to become PM when it's clear a new election should be the only solution? Labour can literally do nothing and still hope for a historic victory at this stage?
  19. At this rate UK could have a third PM this year
  20. Tamara Mesikova finished 2nd behind Nicole Konderla in the Polish summer national championships yesterday @hckošice
  21. Yeah, I also think she won't compete internationally after this one. Well, the Iranian society made their move in 1979 and they're still paying the bills for it.
  22. Sweden ditches "feminist foreign policy" https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63311743
  23. So, she's not gone missing after all?
  24. Obviously Kenya is no Russia so they won't be handed a national ban for political purpose. I assume Coe is fearing of being called a racist so expect more Kenyan dopers to emerge in the future.
  25. Anything anti-Chinese is more newsworthy in the Western media And yeah, mass shootings have become so common nobody cares about that unless the victim count is at least in double digits or there are children involved.
