Is basketball popular in Indonesia?

Practically impossible without knowing which teams will show up. For example, will Jokić play for Serbia, what kind of USA national team will be there. I mean it's not impossible that if AMericans don't send their top team and they won't, they could miss on quarterfinals being in the same part of the draw with Greece and Lithuania with only two spots for QF. From first part of the draw Serbia and Italy game in the 2nd round will determine who will be first and who second but both will qualify for quarter finals. Then, it's the game with one of the three Greece/USA/Lithuania. Slovenia should coast from the group E but in group F we'll see one of AUS/GER/FIN eliminated in the first round and two in the second round. Probably Slovenia and Aus goes to QF but who knows. Finaly, Spain will cruise in group G, while group H is the toughest one. But big caveat is waiting to see will Canada FINALY send it's best players or at least very good team. If they do I could see them in QF with France, Spain and Latvia battling for the other QF spot. From Serbia's perspective, there are two do or die matches here for Olympic quota. Against Italy in 2nd round and QF matchup which will be massive.

Everything is possible in FIBA. This rule is made for small basketball nations, when big basketball countries do it, it's really a shame.

Za nekih desetak godina maksimalno, vrlo verovatno i manje od toga, na našu košarkašku reprezentaciju ćemo gledati kao rukometnu. Ne propuštaju velika takmičenja ali ništa konkretno se ne može očekivati od njih. Biće ogroman uspeh i ako sada sa sve Jokićem i Bogdanovićem (a nije sigurno da će igrati) uspemo da odemo na OI.

You did a good job to get to the core of the problem. Bosnia and Croatia had a significant Serb population that didn't want to live in their new secessionist states just as Russians in Donetsk, Crimea and Lugansk didn't want to live in a new post 2014 coup Ukraine. Yet, all those countries have had a right to secession, just as Kosovo, but Russians in DNR, LNR and Crimea don't have that right. Kosovo is even bigger example of this nonsense because it never was independent country. Talking about double standards.

Well, I really don't want to get too much political on a sports thread, but NATO bombing wasn't related to Bosnia war at all. And I don't see what Sarajevo and Srebrenica have to do with anything, but ok, put it out there for no reason at all. I could respond with all crimes committed by other sides in those wars and we could "talk" like that for decades. But you haven't experienced war and I hope you never do. And when bombs fell on Serbia and killed ordinary people majority of Serbian people surely didn't think how to ban NATO countries athletes to compete anywhere. Sportsmanlike is you want to beat them, not to ban people who have nothing to do with war.

This is what happens when you live in your small echo chamber. China doesn't support sanctions, India doesn't support sanctions. Actually, much bigger part of the planet regarding both population and pure size don't sanction Russia. But, this is what's so typical for NATO countries, they all think that their opinion is only relevant and that they represent the entire world.

Na ovo sam mislio..Da li i dalje imaju 2 mesta van ovoga sa SP Da, ali u stvari mesta na SP su od drugog do sedmog za OQT. Pošto Francuska ide u četvrtfinale to je odmah od drugog do osmog. Ako Egipat uzme Afričko i prvak Evrope bude u ovih 7 što je gotovo izvesno onda idu i deveti i deseti. Ali mi ćemo završiti jedanaesti ako uopšte dobijemo Holandiju.

Great work. Personally I think, it's vastly overestimates Serbian team. Both volleyball teams, women's handball and both basketball teams. Very very tricky. I would go with men's basketball but not women's, there is a change of generations there, men's volleyball we're not top class anymore. And in handball it is far more likely that we qualify in men's rather than women's and even there it's probably below 50 percent. But great job doing all of this.

Could someone post a link to qualification system for Paris? How does this qualification for OQT works exactly?

It is beyond mine understanding that grown up people can beleive in some ideals like whoever is in charge of organizations like FIFA would be some non corrupt freedom fighter. It's like in politics. You can't get elected if you're not in some sort of scheme and even if you aren't in the begining, you will find out pretty quickly how all of this works.
