Huge win for mixed doubles pair of Satwik - Ashwini as they beat 2nd seeded Indonesian pair in first round of Swiss Open. As Swiss Open is counted in Olympic ranking points, this was a vital win. They need to finish better than atleast :NED pair of Robin-Piek, :FRA pair of Giquel-Delrue and :GER pair Lamsfuss-Herttrich who incidentally are seeded 6th, 7th and 8th. Fortunately for the Indian pair, Robin-Piek lost in the first round

My understanding is they need to finish within 13th position the last 3 pos being the Continental ones, if Satwik/Ashwini wins this tournament, their point would be 40K, currently the 13th pos team to qualify is at 48K, so they need to constantly play well and get big points from the remaining 5 tournaments

Yes exactly looks difficult not impossible.

Also the performance of Ellis /Smith is important. They should be consistently good so that they can enter top 8 at the expense of the 2nd Indonesian pairing which lost in the 1st round here, opening an extra spot with only Danish and Russian  pair having some chance for it.

I think she is on line to make her Olympic Debut this year. Only Apurvi Chandela can deny her that or else the exchange quota looks certain

  • Latest Posts around Totallympics

    • I haven't read anything about that   meanwhile many skiers were complaining about the snow and the different consistency of it between the sectors of the track   Odermatt was quite polite but very tough at the same time on that...
    • we already have something like that...it's the regular world championships!   I mean, if we spread the Games all around the Globe, we completely lose the fascination of a single great multi-disciplinary event in a single place (more or less, given that some sports are always held far away from the actual Olympic City)   it's just another thing, it's not the Olympic Games anymore   if that's to be the case, I'd rather prefer the single championships to be well spread through the whole year, so to be able to watch the most of them without losing hours of sleep
    • and  Pietro Zazzi also had a bad crash, ending up with broken tibia and fibula in his right leg    a few more skiers also went down Today, but luckily with no injuries   the different quality and consistence of the snow (and ice) in some points of the track made it very difficult and will be a problem also Tomorrow, when the skiers will have to go full speed
    • Nice! Interesting predictions. Hopefully we'll do even better than 2 bronze medals.
    • Cyprien Sarrazin suffered a major crash training in Bormio. He is conscious, but will need to undergoe surgery to address a brain bleed.
