I think it's a shame there aren't tripartite invitations available for cases like this. Alternatively, the America's quota in IBSF events should not include Canada or the US.

It's actually really hard to qualify for something like women's skeleton unless you can grab a continental quota.

Though in this case it might be possible if the Russian team gets banned. They've already suspended over half of their active athletes.

I'd rather have exotic skiers that can't ski or exotic biathletes that get lost in woods, instead of all those "non-exotic" athletes that compete for exotic nations.

Most of the exotic nations that do compete are actually represented by such athletes, who only in the Olympic seasons supposedly start to care about their questionable origins or connections. For example that Bolivian cross-country skier that appeared last weekend is named Timo Juhani Gronlund... Goes without saying that he participated at races in Finland. :p

Oh two mass starts on one day, that's new :p

And yeah, but I figured news about debuting or returning nations would fit in a thread about debuting or returning nations as well so this was the first place I looked

That has to be one of the weirdest races ever. I love it!

Welp, mass start is their best chance for qualification (as long as they stay in one group for 99% of the race).

And judging by the picture on Taufatofua's instagram, it looks like they all have one mission. Making sure that everyone qualifies.
