So we must win against the Netherlands today to have a chance of reaching the final?

not necessarily, but in that case our destiny wouldn't be entirely in our hands anymore, we would need a couple of more scores to happen (obviously, we must win vs :FRA and :GBR Tomorrow -possibly big wins, then we have to hope for :CZE to beat :GBR Tonight and :NED to beat :CZE Tomorrow -and with scores favourable to us, like a close game with many runs between :CZE and :GBR and a big Dutch win against the Czechs)

2-1 for Italy but we must win tomorrow to UK to advance to the big final. As you can see, this stupid defeat against a weak Spain still has negative consequences for us:facepalm:Unfortunately, it's a bit "Italian" to cause trouble for us in matches against much weaker opponents: with the exception of our girls in volleyball recently.

mission accomplished, :ITA beat :NED 2-1 thanks to a 2-run HR by Piancastelli in the first inning and to a solid performance by Toniolo and Verni in the circle

Tomorrow we just need to beat :GBR (who are beating comfortably :CZE right now) and :FRA to earn a spot in the GMM

it has absolutely no consequence, as we must beat :GBR in any case

Here, it seems like: ITA, NED, and GBR are on the same level and the details decide to wins/losses. The rest of the teams are at least two levels lower, which is why I'm still shocked by our loss to Spain, who lost to France today...

With our win against Esp, all three teams would have the same record: 4-1. And now we have to win or we'll be 3-2 and out.

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
    • Always dreamed Gretzky will draw Slovakia was another moment I can already remove from my things to do before die list
    • Finland have been awful in almost all winter sports, well beside ice hockey and cross-country from time to time, for a lot of years. It's very good to see them building people to challenge for wins again. Their new coach has done wonders it seems.
    • 14th June in Philadelphia against Cote d´Ivoire   20th June inToronto against Curacao   and 25th June in Philadeplphia to kick out  home    Not easy, but not the most difficult group. Should be okay. Vamos
