Round-Robin Day 1 Schedule (GMT +3)

 

LIVESTREAM

 

13:00  :NZL New Zealand vs Chinese Taipei :TPE

16:30  :CRO Croatia vs Turkey :TUR

20:30  :ISL Iceland vs Romania :ROU

 

 

*Tournament Format:

  • 6 Nations play a usual Round-Robin tournament, Each team play once every opponent,
  • The first ranked Nation will qualify for the Women´s Division II Group A World Championships next year in 2020.
  • The Nations ranked 2nd-5th will stay in this division also for the next season,
  • The last ranked 6th Nation will be relegated and will have the possibility to play the Women´s Division II Group B World Championships Qualification Tournament 2020. (and will be replaced in the Women´s Division II Group B World Championships by Ukraine fresh winner of this years Qualification Tournament held last December in South Africa.)

Round-Robin Last Day Schedule (GMT +3)

 

LIVESTREAM

 

13:00  :NZL New Zealand vs Croatia :CRO

16:30  :TPE Chinese Taipei vs Iceland :ISL

20:00  :TUR Turkey vs Romania :ROU

 

1)

*Chinese Taipei and Iceland are still fighting for Gold and Promotion to the Women´s Division II Group A,

**TPE - with the best position, They will qualify if they earn at least 1 point in the match against Iceland, Any regulation Time Win, Overtime/Penalty Shoot-Out Win and OT/PSO lose will be enough for Chinese Taipei to gain gold medal and promotion. Even a Regulation Time lose may be enough but Iceland must win by not more than 1 goal and New Zealand must win in regulation Time against Croatia.

***ISL - will qualify if they beat Chinese Taipei in regulation Time. (In case Turkey defeat Croatia in regulation Time as well, Iceland will have to beat Chinese Taipei by at least 2 goals margin)

 

2)

*Still 3 Teams are fighting for the maintain, Turkey, Croatia and Romania.

*TUR - will avoid the relegation if they secure at least 1 point in the match with the host country.

**CRO - will avoid the relegation if they earn at least 1 point in the match against New Zealand, or if Romania doesn´t beat Turkey in Regulation Time by at least 2 goals margin.

***ROU - will avoid the relegation only if they win over Turkey in Regulation Tima and (in case of Croatia lose to NZL in Regulation Time as well) by at least 2 goals margin.

      Is anyone arguing that this wasn't nepotism? xD   The fact that RFK ended up being a great AG is really one of the great happy accidents of history, but he wasn't qualified for the role and it was so egregious Congress passed a law to prevent a nomination like that from happening again.

      Early thoughts: i will vote for one of Aleksandra Mirosław (the one and only gold in Paris), Wilfredo Leon (best player in our volleyball team in Paris), Iga Świątek (another RG win but only Bronze in the Olympics) or Natalia Bukowiecka nee Kaczmarek ( the most valuable medal in Paris for me)

      Giorgia Meloni’s government in Italy will not be allowed to deport illegal aliens according to judges who just ruled against her decision. They cited how Egypt has a poor human rights record and therefore sending illegals from Egypt back to their home country would potentially violate their human rights so it cannot be done. Italy’s borders will remain open and the New Europeans will be allowed to flood both Italy and Europe forever more.

      in a sport like wrestling, if you are #1 in your country and win World or Olympic medals you can make money otherwise you get nothing. that's not the case in table tennis.   being #2 in your country behind the world #1 (who happens to be from the same country) is a terrible situation. you know you are good enough to win medals but someone always blocks your way,   most of these Russian wrestlers try to win the Russian nationals and win medal for Russia (which pays much better) but when they realize they are getting old and they can't beat a certain local wrestler they move to somewhere else. that's still bad but I don't really blame them, nobody wants to end his career without a major medal.   it's not a bad idea if UWW somehow follows what IJF does. but I don't think that happens anytime soon.
