Challengers - Table Tennis Club

Recommended Posts

Asian TT championships starting on 3rd Sep in Pyeongchang :KOR

Quota places up for grabs in Teams ( Men & Women) & Mixed Doubles .

Only winners qualify . In all probability it will be :CHN who will qualify teams in both men, women & mixed doubles.

Interesting   to see how we perform especially in mixed doubles where we are ranked 8th in the World. As we may qualify via the world tournament or ranking route too.

Yes, if we can make the final and be the 2nd best team in Asia that will be an achievement and big boost to qualify from the team world qualifiers next year. But hey! Its sports so anything can happen :d

Both XD pairing are out in R32 .

Manika/Sathiyan lost to the :THA pair.

Their high rankings in XD is not worthy of their performance here.

Men’s team lost to :TPE 0-3 in SF.
With that our quest for qualification ends in this championships.

We still have singles & doubles events to go in this Asian championships.

    • Putting Canadian curling back on the map after two disappointing Olympics in a row    Very happy for Gallant and Tardi in particular, as you may know Gallant was in mixed doubles last week and really struggled, if he made half as many shots as he missed they probably would've been in contention for a medal. Glad he was able to block that out of his head and rebound in a big way, winning his first Olympic gold. For Tardi, after being able to get a game in as an alternate, the  emotion of just being able to represent Canada, you could tell how much it meant to him. He's hilarious on his Instagram page, but also might genuinely be one of the nicest curlers ever. Hopefully he gets his chance on his own team someday, still young in curling standards.

    • Sounds like Keeley Hodkingson is not going to this. So it might be in general B list for England.
