:CZE TEAM ANNOUNCED

W - Lucie Hlaváčková

M - Martin Vlach, Marek Grycz

Jan Kuf - same points in ranking as Grycz but I guess Grycz's latest results played a lot in his favor so they chose him

Veronika Novotná - first below the line (according Czech federation statement) and waiting for information whether there will be a reallocation or not .....

UIPM updated their Olympic ranking, includingresults from World Championships.

Respecting the 2 quotas per NOC (irrespective of who could they take), I'll post the positions to be awarded, as well as the possible reallocations of the tripartite quota /AIN athletes (in parenthesis).-

Women's (6+4):  :AIN :TUR :EGY :LTU :FRA :MEX :SWE :AIN :POL :UKR ( :GER :POL :CZE :SUI )

Men's (6+5):  :KOR :POL :FRA :CHN :GBR :CZE :ITA :GER :CZE :BUL :TUR (:UKR :CHI )

Yeah, the Olympic ranking was out shortly after the individual competitions finished. Finally happy that 2 :CZE men can go. I was checking the late results. Despite Kuf is ahead of Grycz I would guess Czech team may decide Grycz to go. Kuf did not perform well in both individual and mixed relay, Grycz has lately better results and if they did not banned him to start jumping  event at the WCH because the horse he was appointed to got injured, he would have certainly fought for a medal or maybe the worst around 7th place which would surely secure him a spot from the ranking. Kuf fought for a medal in Tokyo but screwed up his combined event and the same in the qualification in Zhengzhou. This time, I would rather nominate Vlach, who amazingly jumped up from 18th to 8th in the final and Grycz. Both of them could be dark horses in the competition.

Something weird happened in jumping when :CZE Grycz wasn't permitted to start. As Czech commentator said, His first horse was injured, they found a replacement, he was supposed to have 20 mins to get used to the horse and later wasn't permitted to start. Kinda unusual. Anybody has more specific info. Because being eliminated like this from 4th spot, he was fighting for a medal a direct qualification to Paris .....

I can see that only a medalist could qualify. So looks like it goes to Hernandez and other 2 quota will allocated according to the world ranking, right?

Got it, thanks. Just found that qualification group A finished, group B finished fencing and hasn't started another discipline and group C is still fencing now.

Decent fencing result for Joe Choong to sit in 4th place - if he can keep a clean round in the horse riding, he's got good chance of being in the fight for the Olympic quota.

for the women, Kerenza Bryson finished in 10th place - not bad, but probably leaves herself too much to do if she was going to be in the hunt for the quota. For Jess Varley, the fencing round was a nightmare and she sits bottom of the pile having managed just 7 wins.

Can I ask you for a link with the results, please?
