  5. ROAD TO MEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 DAYS -39 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With 39 days to go IIHF continue the presentations of the 2017 World Championships participating Countries, Today it´s Denmarks turn, This small Nordic nation is producing some big ice hockey talent, and reached the final eight last year, can they go even further in 2017? DENMARK
  6. MEN'S UNDER 18 DIVISION III GROUP A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chinese juniors promoted U18 team wins in Taipei City Tough to stop: Chinese Taipei player Chia-Yen Chung follows the tournament’s top scorer Qianyi Huang of China. A few weeks ago China lost the Division III final in the U20 category to Turkey missing out on promotion. The U18 national team took revenge and beat Turkey 11-1 to end the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division III Group A undefeated and earn promotion. The top-seeded Chinese were hard to stop en route to earning promotion back the Division II. They opened the tournament with a 6-0 blanking of Bulgaria, then beat Israel 3-0 the day after. In their third game in Taipei City they beat Chinese Taipei 4-0 in a game between political rivals that was overshadowed by several players of the Chinese team starting fights at the end of the game. Jing Wang and Ziqiao Wang were assessed suspensions following that game but China beat New Zealand 12-0 without them. Turkey’s Nabi Mutanolu became the only player to score a goal in five games against China when he opened the scoring today but the lead only lasted two minutes as China found back into the game and won 11-1. Before the game both Mingwei Ren and Yuhang Zhang were undefeated for 243 minutes combining for 99 saves in four games. The Chinese players dominated the scoring race, in particular Qianyi Huang, who scored 13 goals and had seven assists in five games in the second U18 tournament for the player from Harbin who also participated in two U20 World Championship tournaments despite being just 17 years old. Earning promotion was important for the team coached by Alexander Barkov, a former Soviet national team player and father of Finnish NHLer Aleksander Barkov who took over the U18 and U20 national teams just a few months ago. Several players of the team could be on the senior national team in 2022 when the Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing and for this event the Chinese aim at raising their hockey standard. Next season the Chinese U18 national team will compete in the Division II Group B where it played the past three seasons and where they will meet Spain, Serbia, the Netherlands, Iceland and the team that will be relegated from the Division II Group A. Host Chinese Taipei surprised on home ice with three wins in four games and earn its first medal since 2014 same as Israel. The two teams, who both had strong goaltending from Sheng-Chun Huang and Yehonatan Reisinger respectively, determined the colours of their medals when they played each other during the last day, Israel won 4-1 and took silver, Chinese Taipei bronze. Bulgaria finished fourth, Turkey 5th and New Zealand is relegated to the Division IIIB. Result Thread
  7. yeah pretty weird indeed. probably the conditions allowed only a shortened race. and since it was a national championship race of Slovenia the organizers maybe just have decided to made a 2 runs race to have a fair competition, but who know...since today they had another downhill and again a 2 runs race...and Petra finished with BIB 19! 2nd behind Nevena https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=AL&raceid=88416
  8. First ever downhill for Petra Vlhová today. 6th in FIS race in Slovenia. not bad start in her road to PyeongChang alpine combined participation https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=AL&raceid=88418 What a result for Nevena
  9. ah ok anyway Congrats, great week for football like at good old days
  10. Well the history teach us that Bulgaria know how eliminate France in the last qualifying match
  11. They are idiots. nothing else. idiots. unfortunately they are really strong and apparently "silently" supported by the church...this is why they are so rich and can do so well in elections and are highly in politics...I am really ashamed, each time I read or heard any mention about them I feel so angry and so sad at same time...incredible how t(some part) of the young generation is so dumb and easily manipulated..I mean history is history, we have to live for tomorrow and not for the past..I still hope there still some chances for better tomorrows, already day after the elections there were huge crowds on the streets demanding to ban them and repeat the elections, unfortunately our stupid law allow them as a parliament party to continue their "politic" and what is even worse they all have now immunity and they can apparently do whatever they want...still I hope that it will change and some our lords (I must btw also say that any other elected party don´t work with them, immediately after the results each party said they will never speak or work with them) will find some brains and kick their asses out of the parliament and ban them ofc here as well, nowadays there absolutely no reasons to any problems or tensions with Hungarians or Poles, we are all the same humans for god sake
  12. yes gypsies, hungarians, muslims, homosexuals, poles, americans, martians...everyone...he and his friends are in our parliament for example this one Milan Mazurek is a slovak deputy, he attacked a muslim Saudi family arriving for their son´s graduation. I feel really ashamed by some my countrymans...not all slovaks are like them, trust me, we are not like these retarded primitives
  13. In SVk it´s going in the very very wrong way...apparently the neo-nazi party is incredibly increasing their %. especially among the first time voters around 18 years olds peoples...this is really worrying.. It already was a huge shock during last elections, when they gained some seats http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/11/18/slovakia-comes-to-grips-with-proudly-neo-nazi-party.html but now during the last revealed pronostics they are apparently passed to 3rd place the problem is now when they surprisingly entered the parliament, there no chance that their party will be banned as it was planned before
  14. This year there was a Really impressive Haka from the young Ice Blacks against Chinese Taipei

  17. ITA1 and AUT1 prevail in season's final Team SBX event in Veysonnaz However, the Team SBX title went to two other teams who came out fortunate of the final battle for the Globe. In fact, the 2016-17 season was the first one ever to feature a three-stop tour of Team boarderX events and therefore the first ever in history in which the best teams would be awarded with a Crystal Globe. That said, the ranking prior to the Veysonnaz race was crystal clear with Brutto and Moioli needing the win to having a chance to pass FRA1 on the home straight of the women's title race. But the French team representatives Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Chloe Trespeuch, riding with the confidence boost of being the first ever team world champions, managed to secure the second rank ahead of CAN1 with Carle Brenneman and Tess Critchlow in today's finals and therefore the Crystal Globe with a total of 2.600 points and only 200 points more than ITA1. In the men's event, things were also heating up the calculators. After Haemmerle and Schairer had crossed the finish line in first position ahead of Jonathan Cheever and Mick Dierdorff of USA2 as well as Kevin Hill and Chris Robanske of CAN1 due to an amazing comeback hunt of Schairer from fourth to first, it was time to crunch numbers. In the end, it didn't work out for the Austrian duo as AUT1 was sitting on 2,000 points and therefore 90 points less than today's ninth ranked team ITA1 consisting of Omar Visintin and Emanuel Perathoner today. And as hindsight is easier than foresight, the Austrian squad could or should have played things a bit more tactical in order to stand atop of the overall ranking as the ranking is based on the each team's performance, regardless the rider's names behind it. As it was obvious that ITA1 would definitely be one of the top ranked duos in today's bracket, it would have been smart to team up the strongest racers Haemmerle and Schairer as AUT2 which was sitting in second rank prior to the Veysonnaz race with 160 points more than AUT1. But they didn't and as a result it was the South Tyrolean pair triumphing and writing history. “It was the goal to win the title. We did very well in the first two races but were unfortunate today. But I'm happy that it worked out,” said Visintin. However, the defeated squad wasn't too disappointed as Alessandro Haemmerle found the right words to get straight back into motivation mode for the next season - despite missing out the Crystal Globe so close: “The win today was very important for me and Markus. We had only fourth place finishes in the last races, so it's nice that we were finally able to show what we can. Winning the season's final race gives you an extra push to work even more during spring and summer for the next season in order to stand atop again.” Full Results Men and Women
