    She earned that bronze only because the 3 others starters missed gates and did not continue to race focused to the end. I know her from several world cup races and with all respect on her as athlete, she is just awful and even in this level she was not even by miles counted as any prospect for the quota.

    At the end not many surprises apart missing a Men quota (especially Rossi failing to qualify was the biggest surprise for me) Canada qualifying in both Canoe is also quite surprising, but, yeah good for them. USA failed to qualify in M K1 is not very expected neither, but was slightly bigger favorite here (however I expected Desnos to make it)

    The 2 seconds from gate 16 are now removed, Cassini again on the quota Seat. But lets rather wait for the final official results

    Yep, thats nowadays canoe slalom for you. The results are still 15 minutes after the race unofficial and the video refs must rewatch everything, the penalties adjustements happens now quite often. Then athletes have another 15 minutes for appeals and protest only then the results are official

    Yeah that rule of 1 per gender max at continental qualifiers can be tricky to understand correctly, so let´s wait for the confirmation, but I still think the C1 will have priority as it was the first competed event won by Canada here...thus they mey really be inelegible in the Kayak at the end but in other hands at the European Games all countries were eligible to win quotas in every event (assuming it was not the same athlete) and it was also a Continental qualifier...so who knows...

    It is only for the specific athlete. Trust me, our federation was already explaining this new rule at the European Games. One athlete can win only 1 quota and he can not select which event he want, this time it is automatically the first event he earned the quota (here the Canoe events are contested first - so it will be Canoe)

    That is only for a specific athlete. If an athlete is in qualifying positions on both events the first competed event (here it is the C1) will be automatically considered as the event with the quota.

    Where all gates green ? I mean, I do not believe it is possible obviously, but one never knows. If really there were not a single upstream gate on the course I do not see how the results will be considered as regular and would be counted but, maybe it is just an issue with the live score system

    It doe not look good. But, let´s keep the hope alive, there still the last game vs (if they lose to Thailand tomorrow) which can be the real playout direct match and the win in that game may at the end save you.
