The first good thing which came to my mind thinking about today's big news is that a chance of terrorist attack next summer in Paris is much smaller and if Arab world and China will get promised some future olympics soon a chance for it will be even smaller, almost zero. This is good.

We can also stop watching but with all the bad things about Olympics there is still nothing better in the world of sport (world of entertainment) for me than olympics. So it's weekend, i am having a well-deserved glass of cognac and i will try to make a nice boring post in this thread now but the first thing is - do we know a final list of events for 2026 olympics??? There was some mess with alpine skiing and nordic combined if i remember correctly.

OK, let's clarify today's facts. Who made this decision today? What kind of board? Is it just a recommendation or is it biding? Btw, they knew it's not good decision, that's why they spread the news on Friday afternoon, an oldschool trick...

My only hope is that when an European-Union NOC athlete will get gold and BLRUS athlete will get silver and/or bronze, olympic officials will not try to force/encourage them to have a photo together on the top of the podium at the end of the medal ceremony... if someone wants to do it, it is his life and his photos, but i don't want to see all these hostesses waving their hands to encourage them to stand closer to one another...

It doesn't even out, they could have doped with whatever they wanted and noone could check it, this is huge advantage to them

All the sports you mentioned are big problem (shooting especially with all these H2H finals with 2 athletes left in the final) But combat sports are far worse for obvious reasons imo, this is COMBAT, this is one athlete fighting another in a bout... i don't know much about this IRI vs ISR stuff but as far as i know IRI don't withdraw from all the ind sports when there is an opponent from ISR in the field (like shooting), but they say bye in the combat sports, you see the difference now? I know comparison between UKR vs BLRUS and ISR vs IRI is not good at all but i don't want to write too much here (as i made a big mistake in the beginning using my real name here and not some nick...)
