    Gauzy, just like Hugo Calderano, is extremely unpredictable, but very talented. I would love them to try to play doubles tournaments together.

    I wonder if this has anything to do with the low number of European teams allowed to qualify. However, at the same time, they are supposed to be the best of the best, still they have lost every single time in 7 years.

    I wouldn't go as far. Although two gold medals is certainly a big achievement, both of his gold medals might be seen as at least a bit controversial, in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't have awarded him either. There were better gymnasts in those finals.

    Not a fan of either France or ROC, but it's a harder pillow to swallow to see France as Olympic champions.

    "only" needs to win the men's and women's tournament in Paris. And if we use the same system the US uses on medal tables -- most total medals first -- Brazil leads the overall medal table with nine total medals against eight from the United States.

    Brazil was not as big in volleyball back then. Volleyball only became a huge hit in Brazil after the Barcelona Olympics.

    OMG, we're on the way to earn the third gold medal today! I can't believe it!

    It's interesting to note that among the top 20 nations: 2 are from Oceania. 3 are from Asia. 5 are from the Americas. 10 are from Europe. A disappointing edition overall for African nations. Only 9 gold medals so far for the continent and 31 medals combined. I wonder when African nations were unable to obtain a total of 10 gold medals for the last time...

    Hats off, you called it. I confess that deep down I thought it would be a walk in the park for Brazil, even though the match against Argentina in the preliminary round was very intense. Anyway, congratulations to Argentina for absolutely earning this bronze medal.

    One of the most shameful moments in the history of Brazilian sports. Probably the biggest humiliation our volleyball team has ever suffered. It's one thing to lose to a big powerhouse with lots of funding. It's a completely different thing to lose to Argentina, with all due respect. I hope most of the people involved in this mess are never allowed to go back to the National team.

    I've always wanted to see Russia losing the gold medal, but to Kaleyn or Harnasko. Definitely not Ashram. This only shows how this Code of Points is the worst in the history of this sport. Valuing difficulty over artistry is a huge mistake. Well, at least it backfired to Russia itself. I'm not happy, but it's an interesting historical moment.

    Queiroz and his coach in an interview dedicated this medal to late coach Jesús Morlan. It reads: "Suso Morlan, this gold medal is yours!"
