You could only wonder how much more succesfull Sweden would be in the olympics of we didn't waste so much sport talent to Floor ball (most played sport in Sweden) just to win by 40+ goals.

Swedes still in great shape but struggling with shooting :(

First world cup relay for women without Norway on podium since 2007 (yes they missed olympic medal 2014 and 2022 during that period). and first win for Sweden since 2009 (even if they won gold in olympics 2014 and wch 2019) But terrible with such few nations participating!!

70% said in a survey they wanted it if they could prove it to be cost efficient, sustainable and democratic. Also the City of Stockholm and the government said yes. So both politicians and the people were much more positive this time than for the bid for 2026. Dissapointed to probably never get the chance to see an olympics in Sweden, and definately never be able to compete in a home olympics.

Pätz is leading the stats for fourths by around 10% and had the best % of all ladies. That is not common for a for a fourth player.

Most interesting from Gallivare this weekend: Moa Ilar won before Karlsson and Andersson in 10km free individual start. 17 year old Myhlback 3rd in men´s sprint. Cyril Faendrich (SUI) won men´s 10km free.

That is very impressing! Discussed this with my team mates during the swedish super league and we think Retornaz will win the olympic gold in 2026! Also interesting that only 1 of 8 quarter finalists in the National (the grand slam event last week) was canadian

Congrats on Retornaz win! Italy is on its way to become a powerhouse in curling despite very small base of players if I am not mistaken.

Anything can happend in Mixed. Smaller nations usually send their best players. The good nations send some people who just wants to play for fun and who is not occupied with the grand slam or something else that happens at the same time as the qualifying national championship or the worlds (as it is for now when top-30 teams for men and women in the world plays Tour challenge). Team Sweden that now is seed 1 for the playoffs after 8/8 wins is a combination of two retired females (with good merits though), one male with no international experience and a skip that wasn´t even part of the winning team in the swedish mixed nationals, but stepped in because the original skip decides to play in the Tour challenge Tier 2 competition in Canada instead . just look at Belgium in quarter finals!!

If you mean 10% of the population in the specific country I really hope for the sport that it is not the case. Just being able to talk about Sweden I am pretty sure the majority know about Daniel Ståhl, and when almost 10% of the population watched the championship everyday - I even think some other swedish non-stars are known by 10%.

Not that practice matters but they say Ståhl threw 73.65 in practice on pre-camp in good winds. I guess this winning Throw, in good winds would have been at least that long! And of course 4 throwers could have been over 70 in windy conditions
