I think boxing has gone down mainly because of the shambolic state in which our boxing federation each. Also overall, we have not been able to capitalise on the gains made in 2012. I think what we should also focus on is not only how many athletes we are sending - but how many of them have a realistic shot at medals. has that increased since 2012? I think in shooting we have a great contingent -while Jitu is a huge contender -Abhinav Bindra -I predict is going to go out with a big bang. gurpreet, narang, Chain Singh ,Apurbi and Ayonika are all contenders. The time has also come for our trap and skeet competitors to step up. I am hoping for more than 2 medals from Shooting this time. In Archery, Deepika will hopefully be calmer and more matured this time -and her recent world record equaling score show she is in good form. May be we will have our first medal in Archery this time. In Wrestling - Yogeshwar Dutt seems poised for a second medal barring fitness issues. No chance of a medal in boxing this time. in Tennis -there is the same confusion as last time - will be hoping Sania can do something with the right partner in mixed doubles. In badminton -while recent form has been bad for the Indians - our girls have real class and can turn it on and beat anyone on their day. Too bad they will have to face tough opponents early this time due to the drop in rankings. It is sad we haven't been able to add too many disciplines from which we can qualify. Golf is of course new -and we will have athletes there. And Gymtastics is a welcome addition - Dipa karmakar's exploits will surely motivate others.
