  12. Unusual result. Many favorites lose. From top-4 only Metallurg previously won KHL tournament (last time 2016). Lokomotiv and Traktor played in the final only. But Lokomotiv won Russian championship (last time 2003). For Avtomobilist it's the best result ever.
  13. Just want to check. There aren't any official World indoor records now, correct? There are only Short Track records on a track. In jumping and shot put indoor and outdoor records were fully merged. At least there isn't any information about a term "World indoor records" at the World Athletics website. https://worldathletics.org/records/by-category/world-records
  14. And I've just found that Men's Team Event in Ski Jumping is with 2-person format now — Super Team. https://stillmed.olympics.com/media/Documents/Olympic-Games/Milano-Cortina-2026/Milano-Cortina-2026-Event-Programme.pdf#_ga=2.187834024.1637782579.1709071719-1860462306.1709071688

The biggest names are Alexandra Kosteniuk, Sanan Sjugirov, Alexey Sarana, Vladimir Fedoseev, Nikita Vitiugov, Alexandr Predke, Kirill Alekseenko, Maksim Chigaev, Alexander Motylev, Anton Demchenko, Pavel Tregubov, Nikita Petrov, Evgeny Alekseev. 88 did it in 2022 including Evgeny Romanov and Alina Kashlinskaya, 10 in 2021. https://www.sports.ru/chess/1115746343-104-rossijskix-shaxmatista-smenili-grazhdanstvo-v-2023-m-pyatero-peres.html

  18. NO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MEN AND WOMEN IN 2024. There will be no World Championships 2024 for men and women. Unfortunately, FIB has to accept that the clubs and national associations that first showed interest in arranging the tournaments have later chosen not to do so. For this reason FIB has no organizers in 2024. Now FIB have turned it’s focus on World Championships 2025 for both men and women. To start the process now gives FIB and the national member associations good conditions to create really good events in 2025. FIB Executive Committee will have a meeting next week and more information might be published after that.
  19. So it looks like relay in Nordic Combined was excluded from the programme, Team sprint instead
  20. I think some European teams may send their reserve players to South America if they will play in those games or at least to stay some of their big players in Europe without travelling across the ocean.
  21. https://youtu.be/iV1lajRsdjY?si=FZ9ylh2-_k90ZC6U&t=593 Interesting goal to the own empty net. The goal was credited to the last Avangard player who touch the puck, and it was not the goalie.
  22. I think this topic is the best for this news. Members of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) have approved the final steps in the liquidation of the organisation https://gaisf.sport/extraordinary-general-assembly-approves-the-final-liquidation-of-gaisf/

  24. Yes, but if we don't have petanque in the game I think we can't say what will be France's first choice. In the LA case we can say confidently that in the list there are much more preferred sports for organizers than cricket.
  25. And more of that it will be ridiculous if the local organizers will pay for additional athletes quota with sport they don't want (if it is required, of course)
