  1. Hey peeps! An update from me. So, today was the filming and on Saturday it will be on air and anyone that is interested can spectate even from abroad. I'm glad to say that everything went fairly well and at the moment I'm 4th from the jury votes (6 qualify to the next round). Even though I'm not entirely happy with how things turned out, as I still felt a bit sick, other people thought that I sang well, even though I didn't feel like I did
  2. Why does Liechtenstein get special treatment???
  3. + all the rankings posts for biathlon/cross-country skiing after every single stage that is now done in a single 1st page post.
  4. and now I'm wondering if we're statistically on track with the posts of the old forum, but I guess a good 50% of them is from the times when we used to post results in the threads?
  5. Lithuania with three victories has advanced from their group to the next round of the qualifications to World Championships 2019 I wonder if we have a chance to get back to the elite this time.
  6. I think it was mostly implemented as a tool/option for the best competitors to miss one stage of the World Cup or not to lose out too much if they're to get sick.
  7. Let's not talk about that If I was the grand architect of the Olympics this year, I would give her 4 medals, because she has been an amazing and inspirational athlete during her long career and Finland will never be the same without her. I'm also very hopeful she manages to win the overall, but you never know which Makarainen you'll get in Kontiolahti, plus she's still behind Kuzmina if we'd take into account erasing the points from two worst races. (Kuzmina would lose 5, Makarainen would lose a lot and this rule has really messed with her chances before)
  8. YES, MAKARAINEN!!!!!!!!!! You're Amazing!!!
  9. So much for 5 Germans in the top 11 Really hoped that it would finally be Schempp's day, but he has his favourite Antholz to look forward to now.
  10. Seriously Eurosport commentator stealing my joke of Bjoerndalen switching to Belgium
  11. Yes, it's absolutely ridiculous that she had to post 5 wins in the IBU cup to get a single chance at the end of the Olympic qualification...
  12. Seems that our top skater was too bummed out for not managing to qualify to the Olympics and decided to skip the event. We've only sent our single kid to get some experience, but as expected, he didn't qualify from any heat in all three competitions
  13. Well, that's a funny question to ask for most of our Totallympics nations Feel safe & assured, that Lithuania is not planning to steal any medals from the wonderful winter sport countries
  14. Anyways, my few takeaways from this race would be: Tiril Eckhoff having the race of her season, the camera was even focused on her smiling when she took over Kuzmina in the final lap. Franziska Preuss with her reliable shooting might have just secured a spot for herself in the women's relay ahead of Hinz/Hammerschmidt Sweden is seriously a danger, because getting on the podium twice in a row erases any speculations of a fluke. Poland really pulled it together for the first time this season as a team and could be deemed dangerous if they find some extra ski speed. Uliana Kaisheva might get in favour of the team and her good relay result really helps. Both Irene Cadurisch and Aita Gasparin exploded for Switzerland in very similar situations, so they'll have a lot of things to think about. Chloe Chevalier made a name for herself with a very good relay performance. Absolute disaster for the favourites Ukraine. Pisareva completely destroys any chance that Belarus have in the relay for the second time in a row. With Gabrielė Leščinskaitė picking up her ski speed and a pretty solid performance for Paulauskaitė in the relay, I'm honestly very interested what the Lithuanian team is going to do at Antholz and which of the girls will have the final chance to challenge Rasimovičiūtė and Kočergina for the quota in the Olympics.
  15. I'm very interested how the both of them affect the qualification, because that was some solid points.
  16. Lithuania did not get lapped in both of the relays, I'm pretty happy that our women today showed some fight. Paulauskaitė on the fourth leg surprised me a bit. Edit: It's also nice when both of them did not need to do any penalty loops, our shooting is becoming slightly better.
  17. Three of my favourite biathlon countries on the top, can't ask for a better day than this
  18. I don't know if I said it enough, but this looks like the race of the season! Everyone is bringing up their A game, even the athletes that are not top tier.
  19. Beilmann is going to shake up the Olympics qualification with this result!
  20. I hope this will be enough for Oberhofer to see a start in Antholz. Since Runggaldier is still missing, they'd definitely need to have at least one back up for the Olympics.
  21. I remember reading that story and felt crushed
  22. Would she really have a chance though? I think I remember that there was an Australian biathlete that had a quota for Sochi, but Australia did not let her participate and she ended her career. Or did I get this all wrong and it was a girl from New Zealand?
  23. Yes, I believe that Antholz does count for the Olympic qualification and it's the final stop where many of the teams will decide their Olympic candidates.
  24. A photo that easily illustrates how the women's world cup is much more interesting than the men's.
