  1. Doesn't seem to exist, but this is where it will be. https://results.birmingham2022.com/#/combat-sports-schedule/WRE/*
  2. If you have money, you can have snow. There actually is a quite rocky mountainous area of Saudi Arabia, There was a pro bike race earlier this year.
  3. In the hockey are in a goal chase so they won’t have to face in the next round. The victims? Current score 8-1
  4. “pre-competition kit check” according to the BBC.
  5. World Triathlon will allow men to compete as women. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/triathlon/62418165
  6. Do you know why? Usual reason in Para is classification issues.
  7. Predictable problem when they changed track cycling to a summer sport!
  8. Full-scale bellyflop in the 1m Springboard from Fernando. Did get 9.0 which I thought was a bit mean considering he did manage all the regulation somersaults, twists etc before he hit the water.
  9. Huge upset in the netball as beat 57-55. As big an upset as beating in basketball. Sadly, only a Group Stage win, but it messes up the seedings for the next round.
  10. Just a bump for this. DL starts again in on Saturday afternoon. https://silesia.diamondleague.com/news/silesia/stars-stars-stars-stars/
  11. That’s what we do on the British board I’m on. Athletics, cycling, tennis etc are popular enough to sustain their own threads. Rowing, canoeing, gymnastics etc get lumped together in a Summer Olympic Sports thread.
  12. In the Commonwealths this week the Team competition was incorporated into Qualifications & the team score was derived from best-four-out-of-five performances in the Qualifiers. The All-Arounds were then held on a separate day as a completely blank slate competition, using the top 18 qualifiers. In the Europeans the All-Arounds will be the derived score, and the Team Event will then be the separate events. Why the difference? I guess at this stage in the Paris 2024 cycle establishing national rankings is more important than individual ones.
  13. HJ Officials helped Shankar out there - he was about to waste a jump.
  14. Well, Commonwealths are only for one week in 208, so it’s not surprising.
  15. Was briefly confused by an Australian swimmer called Ireland.
  16. Take their third Para Gold of the Games with a big win in the women’s para bowls. Plus bonus cute well-behaved baby action. Rosemary Linton possibly oldest-ever Commonwealth Gold medallist.
  17. It is a genuine all-continent, poor nations’ sport, unlike many. Just need to sort out governance.
  18. But it can’t be denied they spend a lot on toner cartridges.
  19. Very disappointed that I can’t find out the full name of weightlifter Wiyannalage T N B J Haputhen Happuthenne. Probably something to do with the economic crisis down there.
  20. Evie Richards being challenged in the MTB CC. Fighting back!
  21. Manage to get themselves DQFed from the Heat of Men’s 4x100 Medley relay when they were guaranteed a final place because other teams were DNS.
  22. Was just thinking that must be the shortest PV final in athletics history. Good that officials are allowing athletes to celebrate with their family, doesn’t always happen..
  23. Same thing: not fast enough to take off.
  24. Just wasn’t generating enough speed to jump, I thought.
  25. Putting the squeeze on in the men’s Para Pairs Bowls. 15-7 with 2 to go. Standard of play has been hardly short of the able-bodied really. And they don’t them go.
