  1. Tie on points! Wow!
  2. Due to time qualifying and DQs, the only valid team from Heat 2 of the M4x4 that didn't advance is Japan.
  3. That was a mess.
  4. Thompson also stepped out of lane.
  5. Whew. US managed to get the baton around no problem here.
  6. Per our commentators, USA has formally filed a protest for the M 4x400...we'll see what happens.
  7. Ha...nope, no sarcasm here...we need to go to Baton Passing class (I know we have the runners...just have more trouble than we should with the batons!) (Though here it wasn't 100% our fault.)
  8. The look on Kaul's face when he realized the bar didn't fall And the bar was still shaking after Ferranti walked off the mat...must have some glue on it.
  9. Yep, US men's relay team...not one you can count on! Uf. (Would the hand-off with Zambia/US being in crossed positions be grounds for a DQ or a small q for USA?)

  13. Oops, yes, my bad. I think I was accidentally looking at Weightlifting. I'll fix my comment.
  14. was up 2 sets to 0 over . Cuba was up ~18-24 in the third, and the US came back with 5 straight points, but then Cuba did win the third. US had to come back in the fourth, but eventually pulled it out. Whew! 3-0 ! And with winning over , moves on to the Elimination Round! Next round: -, who will face winner of -
  15. Question to anyone who sees this...I'm seeing this thread show up under 'Latest Replies' along with all the other normal (non-club) forum threads, but do others also see it there? I've never seen another club's posts in the 'Latest Replies' list on the main page (just in the righthand column with the other club tings). Just wanting to see what others saw.
  16. Hoping to start more topics soon!
  17. I've always been a fan of the Olympics, but it was only right before Paris that I started being turned on to the qualifications process. (I caught the OQS for Sport Climbing.) I'm looking forward to seeing who qualifies for LA28 and how. Obviously we don't have to worry about quota positions because of the host nation spots, and I wonder if that will affect who attends other competitions in the off season. I also realize that since we always have a large delegation, it is hard to keep track of all of our athletes! (There's something to be said about being a smaller nation with fewer athletes, as it's possible to more closely follow each one!) But I am looking forward to diving into new sports, seeing who our stellar athletes are, and seeing how they perform leading up to and into the games at LA28.
  18. Here's the medal count for all the Men's Freestyle events. Of these, 6 were weight classes in Paris (IRI would have been top spot if only counting these). Federation Gold Silver Bronze Total 1. 22. Here's his GMM on Youtube if anyone cares to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9T0kJL3u0o
  23. I'm new to the wrestling world, but I was pleased to see that the US made it to a couple of other GMM today. 74kg - David Carr in repechage 79kg - Levi Haines in GMM 92kg - Trent Hidlay in GMM We'll see how these shake out later! I haven't followed the sport enough to know if US is traditionally good at wrestling or not, but hopefully we'll do well!
  24. Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin take Gold! Double gold for , and China Smash is next in the circuit!
  25. Valencia for the gold! And the 18 year old Jax Forrest came up short in the BMM in 61kg, but still no reason to be ashamed.
