  1. I’m glad it’s every bit as stupid and petty as I figured
  2. That's a relief, our long international nightmare is finally over
  3. I think Ro is on a lot of marketing stuff, so I don't imagine USABS would be all that keen on her losing the spot. Perhaps that accounts for their deafening silence.
  4. That's the tree she should have been barking up all along. I wonder if there are issues between her and the USABS too. I noticed they kept their names off all these appeals and advocacy she's been doing, it's the USOPC backing her.
  5. Why are they even talking in the first place? Definitely something odd
  6. As I recall we had a full roster of females, and the men's team bombed out cause their one star was sick at Worlds. I'd need to go back and confirm the sickness excuses validity, but we definitely had multiple women there
  7. TV wise, I'd still take CBC over NBC, but NBC has at least made it respectible Streaming wise, It's perplexing CBC doesn't do a bit better (and it's fine for the general public, it's just sickos like me that want this stuff), it's nothing but regurgitating a few more OBS feeds on top of all the ones they already do. Of course their entire budget to produce everything in two languages if probably less than NBC spends on lunches, so obviously there is a lack of resources, but it's really just a few simple easy things that could be easily solved, but aren't.
  8. I find it hard to fathom any coach at that level doesn’t know the point situation inside out and backwards i suspect it was something personal between him and Uhlaender. Sounds strange, but they’re a strange bunch
  9. The Canadian curling team about to get caught spying with drones
  10. I imagine they'll both be at the main ceremony... they moved things around and men's moguls doesn't start until Thursday and ski cross is way into week two. I'd think they'll just arrive and stay in Milan, or hop the train for that day
  11. Here's hoping! Sadly, I don't have high hopes. The way they disabled fast forwarding for Paris 2024, and didn't change it the full two weeks. Strange they don't. It's just a few more OBS feeds to add to all the others.
  12. Peacock is WAAAAY better than CBC Gem and/or their website. I don't care about the celebrities and ancellary programming, but just that they seem to show all the feeds and alternates live, as well as it's far better organized and searchable. And it has it all live and replays. I gave up entirely on Gem during Paris 2024, cause you couldn't fast forward/skip ahead on replays. It was ridiculous, and they didn't fix it the entire games, so it. much have been intentional. The website video at least worked properly The NBC TV coverage has gotten much better, and isn't tape delaying everything... but their insistence on shoving narratives and storylines down your throat is still there on the main network. I still remember how they spend an hour hyping up Shriffrin and her big redeption race in the 2022 slalom... then when she wiped out again, focused on her briefly, then cut away and never came back. Nothing else mattered! lol
  13. I don't think CBC ever has... for very unfortunate reasons I do recall CTV did in 2010 Peacock is really good for showing all the secondary feeds/courts/apparatus. I wish CBC would. All too often we only get the main event feed for stuff like tennis, gymnastics, etc.
  14. If they get to the gold medal game, I think there is only about 3 hours between the medal ceremony and the closing ceremony... and they'd need to haul his ass from Milan to Verona
  15. Not sure how they’re dealing with the four ceremonies… but my picks would be Kingsbury and either Thompson or Sharpe
  16. Hyping the same thing at 4x the bandwidth is so 2026
  17. The boycott and the East German's doping program kept us from some golds between '76 and '80... I think Bruce McDonald mentioned one time that we could have swept the podium in the women's 400 IM if it wasn't for one of them. C'est la vie I guess. But yeah, the swimming program really took off in the lead up to Montreal, then we had the echo in the 80's and 90's... then it got pretty lean until the Pan-Am's kick started things again
  18. Had quite the drought after Myden packed it in
  19. Evidently the IOC told her to pound sand. She's apparently insisting she'll take it to CAS, which is where she should have been looking in the first place, but still doesn't seem she wants to take on USABS, so it's beyond me what legal argument she's trying to make. I actually think now it's entirely a PR stunt to get her attention in the US, she's totally wrapping herself in the flag and trying to make it a US/Canada thing (wonder who that would appeal to ). If she actually wanted to make a legal argument she'd be focusing on USABS (though I doubt she'd get far)
  20. So I have our roster sitting at 206... plus one more female cross country skier to be named. Does that sound right?
  21. That sucks. Not surprising, but sucks. The men's program was really starting to look like it was rounding into something formidable
  22. It's all just been a big PR stunt. It's ultimately a national selection issues, and even if you accept her version of events, the USABS is completely in control of the selection, process and criteria. If she wants to complain, appeal and sue, it should be to them, and it should be over who gets that second spot. But, I guess they figure they can lean on the IOC and get an extra spot invented out to this air instead. I also notice this latest drive seems to be spearheaded by the USOPC, and doesn't mention the USABS at all...
  23. Apparently now Uhlaender is appealing to the IOC to add another spot and give it to her Good grief, it's a US selection issue ultimately, they qualified two, how they award them is up to them... but she doesn't like their answer, and knows she has no legal standing to go thru those channels or CAS, so goes right to the IOC looking for special treatment.
  24. She was really flying out there! She has always liked jumping in Japan
