Great Lead run for Erin McNeice in the Sport Climbing. She started 10th, with 8 going through to the Final. So far she's overtaken two of the climbers ahead of her, so looking in good shape to advance.

That's extremely unlikely to happen though? We're 5th as things stand (and 4th for total medals), with lots of good opportunities still to come. If 20 golds is 'about' where we should be at, and we finish on 17 or 18, plus make it to the upper half of the target total medal band, plus finish 5th in the medal table, shouldn't that actually be considered a success, by UK Sport's own criteria?

Oh god, it's frustrating for sure! But I don't think it warrants gnashing of teeth and rending of garments to quite the extent that some maybe do. And it's certainly not a sign that a) we're victims of terrible luck, or b) individual athletes are irredeemable failures because they just missed out on gold.

Fantastic run - think 4th/5th is probably where she ends up, but that would still represent a great result.

John Gimson and Anna Burnet up into (joint) Bronze position in the Mixed Multihull, with just the medal race to come. Gold is out of reach, but the pair in silver are only six points (three places) ahead of Gimson/Burnet and the NZ pair.

About 8 of them were listed as DNS - no idea what's going on there, though she seems to have retained 2nd in the standings!

Didn't think the fall itself looked TOO bad, so hopefully it's 'just' sore and she's good to go. Score will definitely hold, so if she's fit to skate, she's in.

D'oh yes, of course you're right. Am I right in thinking that the Women's 10m and Men's 3m are our only realistic medal shots in the individual Diving? Doesn't look like Williams/Kothari in the Men's 10m or Harper/Reid in the Women's 3m are likely to get on the podium.

These near-misses for Gold are frustrating, but that's 40 medals (41 if you count the guaranteed Boxing medal) with virtually all of Athletics still to come, plus Track Cycling, Modern Pentathlon, Taekwondo, and further opportunities in Sailing, Golf, Diving, Sport Climbing, Skateboarding, Showjumping, and Artistic Swimming. Doesn't look like we'll reach 20 Golds, but still every chance we beat the total medal count from Tokyo.

Spendolini-Siriex safely through to the 10m Platform Final in 3rd. Feels like she's in a three- or four-way fight for bronze, with the two Chinese divers a long way clear. Sadly Lois Toulson missed out by one place.
