So far, 26 people have been killed by the outbreak in China and more than 880 have been infected. The virus can cause pneumonia and symptoms include coughing, breathing difficulties and a fever. In the UK, flights from China are now being monitored. Team GB Basketball are due to head to the country next month for their qualifiers for Tokyo 2020. At the moment, those are going ahead as planned. Regarding the women's basketball qualifiers, International Basketball Federation, FIBA, said: "FIBA is monitoring the situation in China closely in the build up to the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, with one of the four tournaments set to be played in Foshan, China from February 6 to 9. "Our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of the teams participating, as well as the fans travelling to support them. "Based on the information at our disposal, the Qualifying Tournament remains in Foshan. "We continue to be in daily communication with the Local Organising Committee, the Chinese Basketball Association and the FIBA China Office, as well as the local authorities and relevant health authorities to ensure we are up-to-date on the very latest situation." Yesterday, the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of the People’s Republic of China (CAMF) issued a statement saying: “As part of efforts to prevent and control the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus, in accordance with the instruction from the General Administration of Sport ‘On Suspending All Sports Competitions Until April’, the organizing committee has decided to temporarily cancel a car rally in Changbaishan, scheduled for February 12 to 14.” The notice was taken down later in the day, but local media reports said the GAS has told all associations to report on their upcoming tournaments and decide whether to postpone or cancel them. Formula E’s Chinese fixture, which is held on the island of Hainan in Sanya, is scheduled for March 21. According to a Formula E spokesperson quoted by Motorsportweek, the race is currently going ahead as planned: “As it stands, the race in Sanya on March 21 is still scheduled to go ahead as planned. We all know that Corona Virus is spreading very fast in Wuhan, China. Death toll arising in Wuhan, China. Well Lingshui China Masters will be held as usual and no cancellation but it is alright since it is only WT 100 tournament and players can opt not to play there due to health reasons. However BAC will be held in Wuhan, China. We cannot cancel BAC as it offers ranking points for Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Due to that I am suggesting for the BAC event in April be held in other countries and not in Wuhan, China. This is because we want to prevent badminton players from Asia based countries to be infected with Corona Virus before Tokyo 2020 Olympics. CHINA WON NO MEDALS IN THE RECENT WORLD TOUR 750. (DENMARK OPEN) Well surprises do happen but it is not as if it could have been such a coincidence. Well perhaps no one noticed that China badminton has fallen and it is not as strong as those days whereby China is still very dominating in badminton up to London 2012 Olympics whereby China won 5 gold medals in badminton. What happened after London 2012 Olympics, is that China dominance in badminton started to wane but no one hardly noticed it. In China Open Super Series Premier 2016, none of the China players won any titles despite the tournament being held in China. Then again in Singapore Open Super Tour 500 again China players won no titles. Then this week in Denmark Open Super Tour 750, again China players won no titles. Well all these while China have been depending on their XD player, Zheng Siwei / Huang Yaqiong who is their saving soul because no matter how they will still win the XD gold medals and XD titles and saved China from suffering the humiliation of not winning titles in the finals. So when Zheng Siwei / Huang Yaqiong lose to the Indonesian XD in the quarter finals, it would have looked like a very bad omen that China is not going to win titles this time. But then again China have 3 players playing in the finals today. One by one China players faltered today. It all started with Wang Yilyu / Huang Dong Ping who could not win their must win XD match in the finals. Then again Chen Qingchen / Jia Yifan lose in the finals to a newly formed Korean WD pair who has just started playing together in the middle of year 2019. Every one knew Chen / Jia should win that WD match easily but still they lose in the end. Then Chen Long is left to play the MS match and he is the last saving grace for China. He must win the MS match at all cost so that China will not suffer the humiliation of not winning titles in a high tier tournament. However, Kento Momota is just too good and no matter how Chen Long tried and played to his level best, he just could not win his match. Hence China ended their campaign in Denmark on a very sad note. They won no titles in Denmark Open. Well many people might be asking. What has gone wrong with China badminton? What has caused China players not being able to win titles consistently? What has gone wrong? Is it the players fault or is it the coaches fault? Well many things have been done. China had changed their head coach. All the coaches for MS, WS, MD, WD and XD have all gone through major overhaul and changed. China had even imported coaches from Korea (Kang Kyung Jin and Yoo Yong Sung) to coach the China players. Lots of things have been done. Yet China players are not winning titles. So what has practically gone wrong here? Whose fault is it now? What is wrong in China badminton system? Perhaps many years of cheating to win and match fixing has taken a toll on China badminton system. Maybe it is those eagerness of always wanting to win medals to the extend of cheating and match fixing has finally taken a toll on China badminton system causing them not being able to win. Well it would not be a surprising thing if China players failed to win gold medals in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Well from the weekly routine of the results, looks like Kento Momota will be the ones winning the MS gold medal. WS gold medal will be tough fight win between Carolina Marin or Tai Tzu Ying. Then WD gold medal will be won by Japanese or Korean WD. Then MD gold medal for sure will be won by minions from Indonesia. Then leave behind the XD gold medal which is the best bet for China to win gold medals. But it seems that China dominance in XD has gone as Thailand and Indonesia XD have found the right formula to win over China XD players. So all in it would not have been a very surprising thing if China players failed to win gold medals come Tokyo 220 Olympics. China badminton has dropped and China is no longer as dominant as how they used to be in the past. Well only time will tell about how much China badminton players/ standard has dropped. One thing for sure it will be very difficult for China to win gold medals come Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Well China players can still win medals in Tokyo 2020 Olympics. They can still win the silver or bronze medals. But to win gold medals it will be an uphill tasks indeed. Well so sad to see China badminton has fallen to such a sad state now.

Based on the articles written above, looks like match fixing has been a norm in China. Every thing can be fixed just to help China players win. The most obvious one had to be Sydney Olympics 200 whereby Ye Zhao Ying is told to purposely lose her semi finals match to Gong Zhi Chao with the reason given that Gong Zhi Chao had a better chance to win over Camilla Martin. Well Ye Zhao Ying cried so hard on that day she is told to purposely lose her match. She refused to do so. She cried over it. Li Yongbo went a step further to get the provincial coaches to convince Ye Zhao Ying to throw away her matches. In the end out of no choice, Ye Zhao Ying meekly obeyed and that is the last match that Ye Zhao Ying played. Due to unhappiness and inability to stay inside such a cruel system that occasionally gets players to purposely lose to their own team mates in the pretext of helping team mates, Ye Zhao Ying retired from playing immediately after Sydney 2000 Olympics. After the news broke out about Ye Zhao Ying purposely lose the match to let Gong Zhi Chao win the semifinals of Sydney 2000 Olympic, this has become the public talks and every one around the whole world including those people in China are basically talking about it as well. This has somehow caused Gong Zhi Chao to retire from playing badminton as well at a very young age due to humiliation she faced and also other reasons that is not suitable to be discussed here. So China lose 2 good WS players within the same consecutive year due to mismanagement and greed for medals. Then every one would have thought that China had learnt a great lesson but no. Match fixing kept occurring. This time in the 2004 Olympics again Zhou Mi is told to purposely lose the WS match to Zhang Ning in the semifinals. Zhou Mi is obviously unhappy about it and this caused Zhou Mi to shift out from China and shifted to stay in Hong Kong and represented Hong Kong to play badminton. Sad part here is despite being the rank no 1 WS, Zhou Mi is not allowed to represent Hong Kong to play for WS in the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Well such cruel and harsh reality it is. When people thought that match fixing could be over, another scandal broke out in London 2012 Olympics causing Wang Xiao Li / Yu Yang to be blacklisted for purposely throwing away and lose their last group match to the Korean WD. Seems like China never learnt and will just keep on match fixing for their own benefits. What a thing to have happened non stop. Yet till today China still match fixing rampantly. Yet BWF choose to let it slide off and just let it be and never want to take any action against those cheating China players. Shame that match fixing is very rampant in China yet no action is taken.

Gong was a 2-time consecutive All England champion in 2000 and 2001. The highlight of her career came in the form of a gold medal in Women’s Singles at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Aside from these titles, she has won titles at the Danish Open (1996), China Open (1997), Japan Open (1998, 2000) and Malaysia Open (2000). She has never become a world champion but silvered in 1997 and bronzed in 2001. Gong was a key figure in China’s team event campaigns and was often the one to win the third and deciding match for China. Over the course of her career, China won 3 consecutive Sudirman Cups (1997, 1999, 2001), 2 consecutive Uber Cups (1998, 2000) and the Asian Games team competition (1998). Gong Zhichao was inducted the BWF Hall of Fame in 2012. Gong Zhichao was born on December 15, 1977, in the county of Anhua, Hunan, China. She studied at the Xiang Hua Zi Di Primary School where she first began playing badminton at the age of 8 years old. In a documentary on CCTV, Gong described her school years during which she would have to wake up very early to train before school. After school was over, she would return to the court and continue to train. Gong trained so hard that blisters formed on her hand. Upon hearing this, her mother started to cook pork hand soup for Gong in the hopes of easing the pain. Her father comforted his young daughter and encouraged her to persevere in order to follow in the footsteps of Tang Jiuhong, a famous badminton player from Anhua County. Gong’s early efforts paid off when she was invited to join the Hunan provincial team in 1989 at the age of 11 years old. Gong’s natural talent caught the attention of the coaches but they were worried about her body structure. Even after puberty, Gong was only 1.63m tall and weighed 52 kg. With her slight stature, Gong looked more like a long-distance runner than a badminton player. Her fellow Women’s Singles opponents towered over her and the coaching staff was worried that Gong’s petite form put her at a disadvantage. However, Coach Li Fang, 1978 WBF World Championship Women’s Doubles champion, was not deterred by Gong’s height and had confidence in her talents. To prove her point that she could become a top player without being tall, Gong worked even harder than before. Gong became a key player on the provincial team and helped the provincial team achieve good results at the national competition held in Hunan. In 1992, tragedy struck Gong’s family. Gong suddenly lost her father at the age of 15 years old. Her father had been extremely supportive of his daughter’s playing career and fervently wished that she would reach the highest peaks of the game. The year of 1992 also marked Gong’s international debut at the China Open. Gong competed in very few international tournaments until her first significant result at the Danish Open in 1994 where she lost in the Quarter-finals to compatriot, Li Xu. In 1995, the Chinese national team held a selection trial in Beijing and Gong easily qualified for the national B team which was usually composed of junior players. Prospects looked great for Gong but she sailed into the final round only to crash with the scores of 1-11, 3-11, to her senior teammate, Ye Zhaoying. Her most telling result of the year would be at the 1997 World Championships. Gong steamrolled her way all the way to the finals with only Han Jingna giving her a hard time in the semi-final with the scores of 12-11, 11-8. In the quarterfinals, Gong had crushed Susanti again 11-5, 11-2. In the final round, Gong faced Ye again. The match was closer with the scores of 11-12, 8-11, but Gong was still unable to clinch the title. Gong was a runner-up again at the Japan Open and her only titles of 1997 would be won at the Swedish and China Opens. The year of 1998 would prove to be a transition period for Gong. Her All England campaign was stopped short at the semi-final stage by Zhang Ning. Seeded second at the 1998 Asian Games, Gong thought her gold medal hopes would be realized when Kanako Yonekura of Japan eliminated first seed, Ye Zhaoying, at the quarter final stage. Prospects looked good for Gong when she met the Japanese player in the ultimate round and easily won the first game 11-1. However, Yonekura pulled another stunner and awarded Gong with a 5-11, 6-11 loss. For 1998, Gong only managed to grab one title at the Japan Open. This makes her one of the most economical movers in the game.” Continuing on with her analysis of Gong’s game, Clark said, “She has managed to develop and combine the best qualities from both Susi Susanti’s and Ye Zhaoying’s games. Without being over patient she has consistency, coupled with the ability and courage to dictate the pace and really go for her winning shots. Her racket skills are excellent, although she is not yet so imaginative in her choice of shot as the reigning champion (Ye). But perhaps her biggest asset is her temperament, cool in a crisis and yet ruthless in attack.” Despite such praise, Gong would go through a title drought until 2000. At the 2000 All England, she proved that she was worthy of her first seeding and finally won her first title at the prestigious tournament after beating compatriot Dai Yun 11-5, 8-11, 11-5, in the final. A month later, Gong continued her winning streak and snatched the Japan Open title away from Ye. In August, she rose to the occasion again and defeated Dai Yun to reach the highest step on the podium at the Malaysia Open. Due to her run of good results, Gong was seeded first at the Sydney Olympics. The top seed sailed effortlessly into the semi-finals where she was to meet Ye. On the other side of the draw, Camilla Martin of Denmark also lived up to her seeding and crushed Dai Yun 11-5, 11-0. Coach Li Yongbo felt that Gong had a better chance of defeating Martin and instructed Ye to lose to Gong. Ye complied and conceded the match to Gong with the scores of 8-11, 8-11. The public suspected of foul play behind the scenes but it was not until years after the fact that Li finally admitted his guilt. The scene was set for a massive showdown between Gong and Martin who were both looking to secure the coveted Olympic gold medal which was only available once every quadrennial. Right from the start, Martin quickly created great distances with tight net play and drop shots. Gong was trailing 5-7 and was done 7-10 in the first game when Martin began making mistakes. Martin lost her momentum and Gong made 6 points in row to win the first game 13-10. After her devastating loss with such a big lead, Martin was unable to regain her composure and Gong easily defeated her in the second game 11-3. After winning the Olympic gold medal, Gong brought her medal to her father’s tomb to honor his dedication and belief in her. After her father’s passing, Gong called her mother every second day and brought her small gifts from her travels. It was Gong’s way of thanking her mother for her everlasting support. Gong helped China win 3 consecutive world mixed team championships from 1997 to 2001. In both 1997 and 2001, Gong won the third decisive match out of 5 matches against South Korea and Indonesia respectively in the final round. Out of these 3 campaigns, Gong only dropped one match. Gong and her teammates had similar success at the Uber Cup. China won 2 consecutive cups in 1998 and 2000. In 1998, Gong once again won the third and deciding match in the final round against Indonesia. Gong helped whitewashed Denmark 3-0 in the final with a strong opening victory against Camilla Martin 11-9, 11-5. Not focused on training anymore, Gong acted more in the capacity of a role model due to her achievements at the recent Olympics. All of China junior players will make themselves look 4 - 5 years younger than their actual age so that they can qualify to play in AJC or WJC. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics rumours circulated that He Kexin (centre) was 14 - under the permitted age for entrants Chinese athletes, spurred on in some cases by the State sports system, have an unfortunate reputation for winning at any cost. Last year, at least 30 runners in Fujian welshed their way into the top 100 of the province's International Marathon by hopping onto public transport or by hiring ringers to stand in for them. Meanwhile, the Beijing Olympics in 2008 saw questionable judging in the shooting, gymnastics and boxing competitions and allegations that China had fielded under age gymnasts. The latest controversies came in the south western province of Yunnan after officials detailed some of the cases they had uncovered in recent years. The report said 110 athletes had faked their ages at the annual Provincial Games in 2010, many of them swimmers. Meanwhile, partial judging at a youth diving competition in August saw some divers given zero points by a panel of judges which included the captain and coach of rival teams. One former provincial diving coach, Hei Licang, admitted that he had been told by a "relative of a sports official" to "look after" a certain athlete. He said he had subsequently been ticked off when the diver did not take gold. "We want to make sure fakers have no advantage," Ye Xiquan, the deputy head of the sports bureau in Guangzhou, told a local newspaper. All athletes who entered this year's Provincial Games were tested, as were the top eight in each category from last year. Mr Ye said faking was so widespread that up to 16 competitors in a single event had cheated. Xinhua, the state news agency, said the structure of the Chinese sports system, where money follows success, encouraged local coaches to use older, and physically more capable, athletes in order to win more medals. "Really good fakers can take part in all sorts of events: those for young athletes, those for university students and even those for the disabled."

Latest news revealed that China junior players have all falsified their age to make themselves look 5 years younger than their actual news so they can be eligible to play in AJC and WJC. All the different China players are involved in this age cheating. Zhou Meng who is listed down as born in year 2001 is actually born in year 1997. Amazing. This things keeps on happening yearly in China yet BWF is forever blind and takes no action.

Yes I am supporting Thailand XD to win today to create more variety in the match and not just the domination from the same country. But then unfortunately the China XD is just too strong while Thailand XD buckled under pressure because they are the only Thailand players playing in the finals today.

I felt so sad seeing Anders Antonsen play today. He is the whole hope of Europe to win the one and only gold medal for European Continent today. Yet he just could not do it and crumbled under such huge immense pressure. I felt it deep in my heart. Anders Antonsen feeling of yes I really want to win the gold medal and the MS title but I just don't know what to do to win. Well China MD coaches are smart to fix the outcome of the match to let Li Junhui / Liu Yuchen win the MD match by asking Liu Cheng /Zhang Nan to purposely play to lose. True to it Li / Liu played a very short MD match in the semifinals and win easily in less than 20 minutes. Meanwhile Japanese MD fight all out and Takuro Hoki / Yugo Kobayashi won over their higher ranked senior Keigo Sonoda / Takeshi Kamura. They played such a long match for more than 2 hours. The China MD save so much of energy but still lose their match to the Japanese MD. So China side made the biggest mistakes when they have decided that Liu Cheng / Zhang Nan have been deemed as lousy and cannot win their match hence they have been told to sacrifice their match and lose. Had Liu Cheng / Zhang Nan played all out to win the MD match yesterday could they have a chance to win over the Japanese MD in the semifinals? Well the greatest lesson learnt today is cheaters never win.

Thankful that Japanese system is I'm such a manner that they cannot develop their mixed doubles department hence Japan look weak in their mixed doubles department. Yes you are right. Japan is right on track to win 4 gold medals in MS, WS, MD AND WD. Japanese players have shown such dominance throughout the whole year of 2018 amd 2019. So sad ? to know that China dominance has gone.

Every time whenever Chinese WD play and it reaches the point 18 or point 19 Chinese WD need to call for doctor help. This has happened all the time involving various different Chinese WD. I felt that this is really absurd. Thought I was the only one who realized this. In the end the commentators of the match mentioned it as well. Oh well crap. So Chinese players need to resort to dirty tactics to slow down opponents rhythm to win the match? Anyway here is the summary. Not sure what he meant by this .. Does it imply clean or dirty tactics?This is because Chinese WD (Chen Qingchen / Jia Yifan and Du Yue / Li Yinhui) had to call for medicals near the end of their matches yesterday. Du Yue / Li Yinhui one is damn obvious especially in the third set whereby after every point she had to ask to be massage and taking a long break. Gosh how come this kind of things can be allowed during tournament time? Speechless. Chinese players have bring cheating into the match into another new level. I really have to salute them. Breaking their opponents rhythm. Time wastage. Asking for break after each and every point scored. Amazing. I just wonder why umpires let those Chinese players carry on with such dirty tactics and no action taken? No wonder Chinese players are so daring to keep on doing it. Match fixing at its highest level again. Match fixing never stops in China. This time now even in Basel World Championship also got match fixing. Seems like BWF is blind and keeps on letting this happen again and again among China players. I find it so shocking.
