  3. Thank you very much for your explanation. Sincerely hope Germany will be able to develop a vaccine soon.
  4. Well right from the start the leader himself has been wrong playing down about the virus. He thought by blocking China he is safe. There are lots of videos online about how doctors and nurses in America is lacking in PPE and essential equipments needed to treat the patients. Most doctors and nurses had to treat the those patients with the virus without proper full attire and equipments thus endangering themselves. In America the health system is crippled when so many nurses and doctors resigned because they refused to endanger their life treating the patients with the virus. That is why the leader himself is acting in such a manner snatching away face mask etc...
  5. No choice when there is pandemic like this things like that is bound to happen.
  6. Here is what Mr Trump said about the virus and he keeps on changing his mind. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/18/coronavirus-donald-trump-timeline 22 January 2020 “We have it totally under control,” Donald Trump said. “It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control,” he said. “It’s going to be just fine.” 24 January 2020 “It will all work out well,” he reassured us. He followed up again a few days later. 28 January 2020 He shared an article from the unreliable One America News Network that suggested Johnson & Johnson was working on a vaccine. The article no longer exists, presumably because it was false. The next day, he announced the creation of a taskforce led by Alex Azar, the health secretary. “The risk of infection for Americans remains low, and all agencies are working aggressively to monitor this continuously evolving situation and to keep the public informed,” it explained in a release. The day after that Trump touted that there were only five cases in the US. 31 January 2020 He banned non-citizens who had recently visited China from entering the US. “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China,” he told Sean Hannity a couple of days later. As February began, the administration reportedly declined to begin using tests for the virus produced by the World Health Organization. A month later, about what to do about a cruise ship docked off of California with confirmed patients, Trump said: “I like the numbers being where they are. I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn’t our fault.” (A couple of weeks later, Regan was taken off the air by Fox after she dismissed the virus as “another attempt to impeach the president.”) On 27 February, Trump began blaming the spread of the virus on immigrants and suggested closing the border was the solution. “The Democrat policy of open borders is a direct threat to the health and well being of all Americans. Now you see it with the coronavirus,” he said at a rally in South Carolina. The first death in the US came the following day. As March began and the scope of the virus had increased exponentially, Trump continued to fight with the media and to congratulate himself. On 9 March he tweeted one of his most dangerous and false statements about the virus, comparing it to the flu, a common refrain among his media sycophants at the time. “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu,” he tweeted. “It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!” The next day, he lied again about the availability of tests. “When people need a test, they can get a test,” he said. “When the professionals need a test, when they need tests for people, they can get the test. It’s gone really well. Look, the biggest thing that we did was stopping the inflow of people early on, and that was weeks ahead of schedule, weeks ahead of what other people would have done.” On 11 March, still more concerned with the stock market, he injected billions into the economy and suggested a payroll tax as a solution for a pandemic. Around that time he started calling for unity. On 13 March, he finally declared a national emergency. “Two very big words,” he said. Almost immediately he began blaming the Obama administration. It didn’t last long. On 13 March, he finally declared a national emergency. “Two very big words,” he said. Almost immediately he began blaming the Obama administration. The next day he suggested falsely that precise screenings were being done at airports. Had the border security been weaker, he suggested that day, the number of deaths in the US would be much worse. He provided no evidence for the claim. On Monday this week Trump, seeming to finally take the threat seriously, said: “We have a problem that a month ago nobody ever thought about.” The next day, attempting to rewrite history, he said he felt it was a pandemic long before it was declared a pandemic. And then, on Wednesday morning: “I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the ‘borders’ from China – against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved.” Again, he used what has become a racist term for the virus, and tried to divert responsibility. “The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!”
  7. Trump on coronavirus A president’s reactions as the crisis deepened JAN 22 ‘We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control’ FEB 27 ‘It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear’ MAR 9 ‘Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!’ MAR 16 When asked how he rated his response: ‘I’d rate it a 10. I think we’ve done a great job’ MAR 17 ‘I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic’
  8. Another great idea turning cruise ships to treat Coronavirus patients. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/world/cruise-ships-trump-floating-hospitals-coronavirus-covid-19-12559130 Excerpts from the article above. Cruise ships could be converted into floating hospitals to treat cases of the novel coronavirus, US President Donald Trump said on Thursday (Mar 19). Micky Arison, the chairman of Carnival Corp, which operates Carnival Cruise Line, "made the offer, it was a generous offer", Trump said during a press conference. "He said that he has some ships that would be ideally suited for what we are doing," the president said, since the ships are "big and have a lot of rooms". "If we should need ships, a lot of rooms, they'll be docked at New York and Los Angeles and San Francisco and different places."
  9. Another interesting article about Donald Trump. https://khn.org/news/donald-trumps-wrong-claim-that-anybody-can-get-tested-for-coronavirus/ Excerpts from the article above. “Anybody that wants a test can get a test. That’s what the bottom line is,” Trump told reporters March 6 during a visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Moments later, Trump added that anybody who needs a test gets one. “But as of right now and yesterday, anybody that needs a test — that’s the important thing — and the tests are all perfect, like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect, right? This was not as perfect as that, but pretty good,” Trump said. (Trump’s mention of “the letter” and “transcription” was a reference to his recent impeachment.)
  10. Very interesting article for reading. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/03/asia/tokyo-coronavirus-japan-hnk-intl/index.html There are fears a coronavirus crisis looms in Tokyo. Is it too late to change course? Excerpts from the article As of Friday, Tokyo had tested fewer than 4,000 people in a city of 13.5 million. And just 39,466 people had been tested in this nation of 125 million, according to the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare. That's a tiny fraction compared to countries in the region and around the world. As of Friday, South Korea -- which has a much smaller population than Japan -- had tested more than 440,000 people. The Japanese government says its testing regime is adequate and suitably targeted to high risk cases. "Testing people with a low probability of novel coronavirus would be a waste of resources," Japan's Health Ministry told CNN in a statement. "We ask people with some symptoms to stay home for a period of time." Turned down for a test Coronavirus patient Issei Watanabe spoke to CNN from his Tokyo hospital room. He struggled to breathe in between coughing fits. Doctors consider his a "mild case" and expect he'll be discharged on Tuesday. Watanabe is 40, a non-smoker, in good health. His symptoms came on quickly. Body aches, chills, no sense of taste or smell. When he asked for a coronavirus test, he says he was turned down -- and had to endure five days with a fever above 40 degrees Celsius -- 104 degrees Fahrenheit -- before he was finally allowed to take a test, which came back positive. Watanabe says he infected at least two people during that time. "People don't know what to do. There's a real lack of good information," Watanabe said. "Your life is in your hands. Stay home. Please stay home. Don't go out." Watanabe worries about the tens of millions of Japanese who are older than 65. He knows he'll recover, but many in Japan's aging society won't. Infectious disease experts warn of a steep price in human life -- if coronavirus spreads rapidly, in this rapidly aging society. "Coronavirus is very dangerous to old people," said Masahiro Kami, executive director of Japan's nonprofit Medical Governance Research Institute. He said most coronavirus patients in Japan are likely showing few, if any, symptoms. "When they are asymptomatic, they can transmit the coronavirus to others," Kami warned.
  11. Have to agree with you, The buggest fear of all is the incompetent leader up there.
  12. I don't think this is a good idea. When so many old people get together in large crowds with no social distancing it will be the right place for the virus to spread.
  13. WHO have said before. Not all the countries can have the luxury of doing mass testing. It should be alright. Just keep testing and do what is best for the country. I am sure Argentina can overcome this together when they stay united as one.
  14. Hope so. He will be kept busy with many dead bodies to manage.
  15. Yes you are right. The only difference here is he is more violent than Trump.
  16. This news is pretty shocking. Somehow some countries have resorted to shooting to keep people at home. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/covid-19-philippines-lockdown-duterte-coronavirus-12601384 'Shoot them dead': Philippine President Duterte warns COVID-19 lockdown violators Excerpts from the news above. "It is getting worse. So once again I'm telling you the seriousness of the problem and that you must listen," Duterte said late on Wednesday. "My orders to the police and military ... if there is trouble and there's an occasion that they fight back and your lives are in danger, shoot them dead." "Is that understood? Dead. Instead of causing trouble, I will bury you."
  17. Thank you very much for your information.
  18. How is the situation right now in Indonesia? Is there any improvement so far?
  19. Alright. I got it now. The para athlete won the first ever bronze medal. No wonder I didn't realise it. I usually do not focus much on para athletes. Sorry. The country won its first ever Commonwealth Games medal, a bronze won by para athlete Friana Kwevira in the women's javelin throw (F46) event.
