  2. Can King and Efimova just both miss the final for once?
  3. She has stuck around for a long time! Had a two year ban for drugs in 2003
  4. 200 free in Canada is not nearly as good as the 100, nobody expects anything close to a medal for this team, especially as its very young, 3 athletes born 1999 2000 and 2001 and then the veteran Savard 1993
  5. Marshall Hall (Discus) and Julia Ratcliffe (Hammer) were added to New Zealand team
  6. Lol, from an article: Sportsmail understands the European 60 metres champion, who was part of the 4x100m relay squad, trapped his finger in a heavy wooden door and suffered a severe open fracture on his baton-carrying hand. The 27-year-old initially gave little away about the accident when announcing his withdrawal with a broken finger, but later clarified: ‘Broken finger doesn’t sound too bad but it was an open fracture, bone out, nail bed and flesh dangling off. I thought I may lose the finger. Thankfully it has been saved and I’m recovering well.

  19. Tarah Korir married the Kenyan marathoner Wesley Korir, she took his last name, she is formerly Tarah McKay. Pidhoresky and O'Connell were also born in Canada. Ahmed and Ajomale immigrated when they were young.
  20. Ruck was born in Canada but has lived the majority of her life in the US. However she never got US citizenship, which means she didn't have much of a choice than competing for Canada. And now she recently moved to Canada to train with Oleksiak and the other girls. Condorelli is similar to Pickrem, don't care for him. Barber is similar too, but at least his dad competed for Canada and he also spent summers in Canada and is registered with a club here. Plus unlike the others, he could've actually made the American team without a ton of effort if he tried.
  21. Sure I'm just not a big fan of people who don't have many ties to a country other than a passport competing for that country. The only other national team swimmer like that is Condorelli who didn't even show up at nationals so he might be done with our federation anyway.
