  1. and the IIHF continues to find creative ways to embarrass itself. Someone accidentally called this round 'round 3' and they have kept it and made it possibly official. The group title letters make no sense. According to their main page https://www.iihf.com/en/static/56966/women_s_olympic_winter_game Germany should have qualified for the Olympics already. Whoever is making the pages has no idea what they are doing. crazy that they have this much disdain for their fans.
  2. I believe that yesterday's result in Cerro Catedral confirms Faiz Basha has met the Olympic Criteria. FIS points not finalized yet for some reason, but his result should easily be better than what he needed.
  3. the WCF rankings may come into play for the mixed doubles qualifier. I was trying to gauge countries position coming into the season but I cannot reproduce the ranking totals that they have. For instance Norway has a score of 66.791 but achieved better than 75% of the possible points each year but one, so even logically I can't get my head around what they are doing.
  4. Counted it by myself, was hoping that someone out there is compiling something since the FIS probably won't until next season.
  5. After a rough look I see 16 countries that have secured the minimum standards for at least one athlete. I think there will be a few more today in Perito Moreno. Aruwin Salehhuddin of Malaysia was a surprise to me, but I see that she qualified for Beijing as well.
  6. Is there anyone out there tracking countries that have met the Alpine Olympic standard already? There have been enough SAC races for it to be possible I think.
  7. FIFA is not yet calling it a final score, could there be some official appeal going on?
  8. I wonder who will replace Hurkacz in the draw, with the time frame it would have to be someone already there wouldn't it?
  9. why are you saying that this is according to wikipedia, it is not. Do you mean that it is your own creation based on the rankings from there?
  10. So raonic is in at 33, and Kwon Soon-woo is in at 80. I am trying to figure out who in the middle that wiki lists is not.
  11. So the official timeline is here: https://stillmed.olympics.com/media/Documents/Olympic-Games/Paris-2024/Paris2024-QS-Tennis.pdf but not on that document is the fact that the ITF has said that they will publish a full list on July 4th here: https://www.itftennis.com/en/events/olympics-paris-2024/entry-list/
  12. Also there is the prospect of Raonic, who said he wanted to go to the Olympics but has not confirmed it, O'Connell that wiki lists as not eligible, Djere who seems to have indicated he is not going, Cilic who could use PR but with the recent surgery that seems really unlikely. Too many moving parts to be certain of the final few qualifiers.
  13. According to the wiki list Nagal would have to wait for the reallocation process (57th is the reallocated host spot) so saying that he is an alternate makes good sense.
  14. And Andreescu has told sportsnet that she was hopeful that her 64PR would get her in. https://www.sportsnet.ca/wta/article/bianca-andreescu-preparing-for-return-to-court-has-sights-on-playing-in-olympics/ The statement from the Japanese Olympic Committee appears to say that Osaka is going to use the legacy quota https://www.joc.or.jp/news/20240613034804.html but that would not make sense now. I guess I am saying that if Osaka and Kerber have to use PR, then probably Andreescu does as well. And what has happened to Halep, I thought she was trying to make a comeback.
