  1. I think that once the remaining 10 quotas are added in (I can see one or two getting used but that is even a stretch), Norway, Sweden, France, Finland, and USA would all get their 8th male quota. Kind of bizarre that the simulation only says that Finland and USA have the remaining room for them though.
  2. According to this PWHL story Mi Le, sorry Hannah Miller, is on the Canadian roster for this year's world championships. https://www.thepwhl.com/en/news/2025/march/21/twenty-three-pwhl-players-named-to-canada-s-national-women-s-team-roster#:~:text=Forwards%3A Emily Clark (OTT),%2C Daryl Watts (TOR).
  3. That is the tricky thing, I believe that the scores take three trimesters into account so some athletes will have scores that are too old by the time the olympics come.
  4. Very cool list. I would eliminate Rosbo from there though since and are the same NOC and he would be the third. But that is really nitpicking. So much better having an Olympics with no host exceptions to the rules.
  5. So something that has not happened before (with the current format) could play out for the first time. If defeats then both zones will have a total of 43 points, the tie-breaker is who is the champion. So the pan continental zone would get a sixth qualifier for next year's championship.
  6. No, needs 11 points, so any medal including a bronze is necessary. And just wow, none of us were talking and if they had won that nail biter against then they would be the ones sitting in the olympic spot waiting for
  7. very cool. some strange omissions from the list though and I don't understand adding Popovic from Croatia as being eligible.
  8. Pretty sure is already qualified. A lot of tie-breaking scenarios but they cannot finish the championships below can only have two of / / pass them in total points since they can only finish 8th or higher.
  9. and are both almost certain, which would leave one of or maybe even if they can win a playoff game or two. According to my calculations has a minimum of 13 points, 12, can't catch either and are likely to finish with 10 or 11 points, so could get really lucky and make the playoffs or finish with as low as 9 points.
  10. What about ? is in for sure because they have made the playoffs.
  11. the most recent update to the sprint standings has no change in the women's top four, the same four men, but with Filippov ahead of Klette now but Mayer of Austria very close.
  12. looks like access to the men's rankings they are generating is temporarily cut off. But this just showed up: https://www.fis-ski.com/inside-fis/general-fis-documents/olympic-winter-games-2026-copy-for-quota-links It appears to be copied from 2022 and the links don't work yet, but maybe soon.
  13. they (IIHF) would have to make some kind of exception to the rules because, "A player, who has previously participated in IIHF competition, can switch national eligibility (but only once in a player's life)" Additionally, it would be interesting to know when she submitted the request to change, it would have to have been at least two years before the Olympics start.
  14. What the sprint standings should actually be, with only people who can qualify: Mens: Lietha SUI 352, Drion du Chapois BEL 193, Klette NOR 151, Filippov AIN 138, with Canclini ITA 137, and Hoesch GER, 131 close behind. Womens: Alonso Rodriguez ESP 278, Paller GER 273, Murada ITA 212, Jagercikova SVK 193, with Hiemer AUT 185 and Matejovicova CZE 174 close behind.
