Ghiotto won 5 km with a track recor but his advantage over Snellink was surprisingly small. If not for the Dutchman's wobble on the penultimate lap, it could have been even smaller - less than 1 second. I was more afraid of Eitrem, who was 3rd today with a loss of over 3 seconds. I think that Ghiotto would have lost to Roest today, but I hope that this is not the Italian's peak form. It is clear that Ghiotto changed his tactics a bit - i.e. he saved more strength for the last 2 laps and there he gained some time over Snellink. It`s important becouse on 5 km Roest was still beating him in the same way - very strong last 2 laps.
