So 4 medals for us, (0-2-2) Paulína Fialková - silver sprint, bronze pursuit, Tomáš Hasilla - Bronze sprint, mixed relay (Paulína Fialková/Ivona Fialková/Hasilla/Kazár) silver.

no gold this time, Otčenáš failed to become the first ever biathlete to win 3 pursuit summer world championships consecutive titles. Paulína clearly leading our team here with the fastest times but still hardly struggling with shooting,

at least she is really improving season by season and after the expected retirement of Kuzmina after PC 2018 she will have to take over the reins of our biathlon, hopefully she will be able to stand the pressure

For now before the upcomming winter there still A lot of work to do in shooting...a lot

Pidhrushna interrupted her trainings with the team in France because her asthma came back. She went to Czech hospital again and then to Ukraine. She can join our team in December/January or end her career.

EDIT: and Pidhrushna has just posted that everything is ok and she'll be back soon. woohoo

  • 3 weeks later...

Three former Russian biathletes have been involved in a serious car crash. Sleptsova and Vilukhina seem to have gotten away alright, Olga Medvedtseva/Pyleva/Zamorozova (double Olympic gold, 6 times world champion) is in the hospital with some sort of 'average degree of severity brain injury'. Apparently a bolt came loose from an opposing car, flying through the windshield and hitting her in the head, resulting in the car crashing.

    • I’ll start first;   Obviously,  @brunamoura in cross country skiing if she qualifies  (no pressure)    Curling:  Team Hasselborg and Team Edin,  Kaldvee/Lill, and to a lesser extent  Team Fujisawa and  Team Schwaller Ice Hockey:  Sweden men’s team,  Arturs Silovs/Teddy Blueger, whichever Canucks are on  United States’ men’s team, and  Finland’s men’s team if Lankinen can keep up his good play (Even though he’s probably going to get traded from the Canucks after this season, he prefers being on a team where he can get more starts than more money. Still I have a soft spot for him) Alpine Skiing:  Marco Odermatt,  Aleksandr Aamodt Kilde Freestyle Skiing:  Jakara Anthony,  Birk Ruud,  Sina Sigenthaler,  Andri Ragettli Snowboarding:  Leon Ulbricht,  Marcus Kleveland,  Anna Gasser Speed Skating:  Jutta Leerdam,  Jordan Stolz Luge:  Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl,  Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt   From a Canadian perspective, I’m rooting for our men’s hockey team above all. Then, our curling teams, especially Team Homan if she wins Olympic Trials. Then Max Parrot, Mikael Kingsbury, Eliot Grondin, William Dandjinou, our women’s hockey team, and our ski cross squad. But really I’ll be rooting for all of our athletes.

    • I disagree, the Christiansen hit on Kuzmenko was as clean as can be, why would you try to start a fight after that? Honestly, I find it a little pathetic and soft from Pospisil, but maybe that’s just me…
