I don't get why they have 5km/10km pursuits as medal events in cross-country skiing, that doesn't exist anywhere...

It's just as much nonsense as having both the sprint and pursuit as separate medal events in biathlon, even at the Olympics sbatje.gif

And as for the XC pursuit tomorrow: basically what you've got now is like a shorter version of a skiathlon, only with a day of rest in between instead of a ski exchange

Video 2A --> At 8:45 first we see Confortola closing in on Bruna and in the scene after that we see the reason why Andree-Anne Theberge :CAN didn't finish the race, she collapsed..luckily she got back on her feet after that, being helped off by a Russian team official.

Well, my limited expertise expects Bruna Moura to improve her position in the freestyle portion. :p

That's the goal :d

The first plan was to go nearly all-out on the first half of the 5k lap, which is mostly a very long uphill, trying to stay in the front of the wave group (14 athletes) and maybe catch 1-2 athletes in front, then just try and see how much energy there's left for the second part (which has a downhill, tiny barely noticeable uphill, downhill, flat, downhill, flat, finish). At the team captain's meeting they said they won't do the 5k lap however, but two laps on a different, 2.5k course. It's easier, with only the uphill at the beginning, but it also means the plans had to be adjusted a bit :p

Ok 2 major and incredibly weird things from this day. Canada-GBR 75-0 shots on goal and the 2 czech shorthanded goals in some 20 seconds..this is just wow..this must be so embarassing for Sweden...really can not remember when I heard about 2 conceded goals during 1 power-play even at junior level so not mentioning this seniors level :roflmao:
