Tomorrow starts the 68th annual Strandzha Cup tournament. 282 athletes (210 men and 72 women) from 35 countries have signed for the tournament. It will mark the return of the talanted Blagoy Naydenov to our national team. In 2014 he became Youth Olympic champion and World Youth Champion and everyone here thought we had our next big boxer, until it got to his head, and he said he wasn't treated properly and wasn't paid enought yada-yada. There was a scandal and he said he was turning pro at which he failed miserably and 2 years later, he is wanting a return to the national team...

The new cycle begins with a changed judges system. In the tournament they use all 5 judges scores to determane the winner and not the random choosing of 3 of the 5. And i haven't seen many complains about the judges so far, which is always a rare thing in boxing. :d

As for the results, very good tournament for us. We have 12 semifinalists of the 15 categories. Russia and China have 6, UK with 4. I'll post the final results tomorrow when i get home. :p

Klitschko better think of retirement before he loses a few more matches. :d And he was so cautious protecting that win-loss record all those years. Now Pulev has the next shot for the IBF belt, but i thing it's almost certain that AJ will vacate it, because that match isn't as prestigious for him. Going against Wilder, Fury, even Parker is more likely. :dunno:

    • That is absolutely certain. Any somewhat reasonable politician should be good enough to win against someone like Trump, even with the unfortunate timing (for the Democrats) of having to carry the brunt of the COVID pandemic consequences and so any Republic having a bit of a head start anyway.   But yeah, dreadful performance overall from Harris, who seemed to start quite positively, but then just lowered herself to Trump's level in terms of throwing shit at each other. That was a terribly dumb choice, nobody is going to beat Trump at the insult game, as we have seen.

But the West's strategy backfired as it pushed Russia to friendship with China. Many don't realize as Russia and China are actually adversaries even when they shared a common ideology during the Soviet era
