It's not an argument. They are taking part in the competition just boycotting the opening ceremonies because Russian and Belarussian athletes will be present

"The Opening Ceremony will take place in Verona, which is not a competition cluster for the Games. Because of its location, which would require significant travel for all Canadian team members, McGregor, Wilkie, and all their Canadian teammates will not attend the Opening Ceremony and instead be celebrated in their respective Villages."

The Opening Ceremonies just wrapped, and I'm pumped for the Games to begin. After the Olympics, however, I'm not getting my hopes up or having any expectations, so as not to be disappointed... again...

Even that summary doesn't do it justice. Italy was 1mm away from tying it in the final end. Yikes.
