Wrong! We can qualify two boats. ( There is no gender restriction)
This is self-

If and only if we win both events. I think it'll be one boat only.

There is no need to win the race, In African qualifiers :ALG finished third in Men's Single Sculls and first in Women's Single Sculls and qualified in both events.

There is conflicting understanding of the qualification document.

I still understand that 2 boats qualify irrespective of gender & placing provided they finish in qualifying position.

Our contingent size might be higher than Tokyo even though women's hockey team isn't there

Looks difficult, will be great if we can equal/just exceed Tokyo numbers.

A lot depends on how many we qualify in Athletics & qualifying 4x400 men & 4x400 mixed is a must for that.
If we can get a quota in Gymnastics at asian qualifiers then we will match the 18 sports for Tokyo.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

    • Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
