only once since 1996 when our A team and our Under 20 team all won their Pool B (nowadays Division I) Tournaments (After the split of Czechoslovakia, Czech Repulic acquired the succession rights in the top division, Slovakia had to start from zero in Pool C, both our teams won respectively in 1994 the Pool C and in 1995the Pool B tournaments) and from 1999 (The inaugural edition of the Under 18 WCh, there Slovakia was placed immediately in the Top Division) our men´s hockey team had to experience the shame of relegation and it was our Under 18 team in 2011 (fun fact it was the year we organized the seniors WCh, this year our U18 is again close of relegationand again in the year we are the seniors WCh host lol) the team won the next year the U18 Division I A anr returned immediately into the top division,

but after todays fiasco, our U18 is again very close of the relegation. unbelievable and embarassing..todays WCh format allow you to prepare your team for one the most important match, you can train, prepare you for this game the whole year ! We knew our only main game is the match vs Latvia, win this game and we avoid relegation and play the QF and everything is OK, but... we just incomprehensibly failed..

anyway congrats Latvia.

IMG_5274.jpg

now we have to play the relegation round series a best of 3 matches against one of :FIN or :SUI, if we´ll play Switzerland, maybe there a chance to win 2 out of 3 matches, but if we´ll play Finland. it´s game over and we´ll experience our second relegation in our men´s hockey again by our U18 team
